Dave & Chris - 03/01

Chris & Dave's Hedo III trip report.

OK, we've procrastinated writing this trip report long enough. When people stated that it takes a week to recover after you get back, they weren't kidding. We were at Hedo III from March 24th to the 31st. This was our first trip to Hedo and the clothing optional thing. We would like to thank DennyP for this site and all the people on it, who helped us with our questions. It helped us to prepare and avoid unpleasant surprises.

We booked our trip through Sky Auctions on the internet. Although it was a good price, the flight times made it somewhat difficult for us. We called Friday to confirm our reservations and Anthony answered the phone and said, "Yes we have you on file. Are you ready for the vacation of your life mon?" We were, and so it was!

The trip down from Detroit was fine, except for that loud bang from a compressor failure in one of the engines that aborted our take off. After taxiing around the pilot said it happens sometimes and after our standard checks we think we should be able to make it this time. Not exactly comforting words, but, its been a long winter! The consensus of the passengers seemed to be...give her one more shot mon! Other than that, American Airlines to Miami onto Mo Bay was enjoyable.

We landed around the same time as two other jets so going through the checks took quite along time. We were prepared though, because we had read on this site that Saturdays are slow. Going through customs was no problem. The agent couldn't understand why we would bring two rafts with us to Jamaica. I told her that I had read it on the internet! lol The trip to the resort was almost anticlimactic from what we had read on other trip reports. Several people from the Northern part of the U.S. said, throw a few inches of snow on the road and then it'll be exciting. We would regret these smug words on the trip back to the airport. But that's later.

We arrived at Hedo III around 3:30 PM. While Chris checked us in I went for Red Stripe at the main bar. By the time I got back I just had to sign my name and off to our room, 827. Convenient location and the sound from the disco never bothered us. OK, we're here! Lets do the nude hot tub! All right, we'll unpack first. Now lets go! I suppose we can do the ET thing and call home. Now?

Room towels wrapped around us, we headed to the hot tub. It was raining lightly but didn't care. Got into the hot tub, no problem mon. Hey, Chris is that you? Wow, our friends that we met through Denny's site prior to the trip. Visitor list comes through. After dinner then back to the hot tub. O.K. we found out tiles around hot tub are slippery. Honey are you all right? Nice 1 and half gainer, but gotta give you a 6. Too much splash upon entry. Made it to 3 AM in the hot tub after a long day of travel.

Sunday morning, other friends that we had met through Denny's site would be arriving at 9. They made it on time and gave us a call we had our breakfast and hit the beach. Nude beach is small like others have said however, we didn't have a problem finding a chair at any time of the day we were there. Nola is great, as others have said in prior trip reports. She even makes her own drinks, didn't realize that until I was at the bar one day watching how hard she works. And what a memory, she never has to write a drink order down from the people at the beach or pool. Yes, the guy is at the far pier trying to sell ganja every day all day long. What a job!

Because of the need of brevity we will now go into the highlights and low lights.

Highlights:

Rooms are very nice and clean. The whirpool tub, was an experience to say the least when hubby tried to "set it up". A 1/2 ounce of bubble bath goes a long way. Quick open the window, start bailing snowing bubbles in Jamaica.

Body painting was a lot of fun, make sure you take advantage of the very artistic creations he can do. Make sure you participate in the activities. The coordinator's work very hard to get people to participate and it is fun when you join in. Don't miss the golden shower for the Miss Hedo contest. Bocci Ball was fun on the Nude beach and if couples play it's a good way to earn lots of Hedo bucks!

We ate at all of the restaurants the food was very good at all of them. Couldn't even complain about the main buffet. Judge for yourself mon. Went to Munahana on toga night. One in our group only covered his bottom half. They said you need a shirt on. No problem mon, they brought out two paper towels to cover his shoulders. lol.

We did the slide and it was fun when we got the entire group out of the nude hot tub to parade up and go down it several nights. We think the bartender radioed ahead to warn them we were coming.

Playboy channel was filming while we were there which made us nervous that they would take it over. To our surprise they were very courteous to the guests and respecting their privacy. Quite frankly I'd book again when they were there. They added to the excitement. Totally professional.

We met a couple in the hot tub that was celebrating their 37th anniversary. They do something special on their anniversary every year, and this year it was Hedo III. It happened to be p.j. night and we were going to leave to go. They asked what it was and what we were going to wear. We thought they would go to bed but there they were in ten min. her in her red teddy, and he was in his boxers dancing the night away. They were such a fun couple they even outlasted us at the nude hot tub one night when we called it a night at 3AM.

Lobster night on the beach, was very good, but don't be late they do run out. Circus act during dinner was very entertaining. Some of our friends were even in the show doing the trapeze.

Now about single guys. Remember about a month ago you 'all were complaining about the E-magazine Story? We met a guy that could have wrote it. He even got a cheer and ovation in the hot tub one night for his success rate. Must add here, that singles that are experienced travelers with no expectations have a good time. We met many that were very fun people that were having a good time. On the other hand, guys that showed up with expectations that their travel agents gave them that it's a sure thing with women will be disappointed. Some even left the resort after a day.

Celebrity sighting; big guy, football player I'd like to tell you his name but at 6'8, 350 pounds and two superbowl rings he said he would kick my ass if I mentioned his name in this trip report. But he was a lot of laughs and very fun to hang around with. He was even prude in the nude hot tub for a while since we convinced him it was more fun on the nude side but he still refused to "take it off". LOL Crystal and Flower of the 411 girls on Playboy were on the nude beach to have lunch during a break from filming. Security kicked them off for having their swim suits on. Kind of funny, that they would kick off Playboy channel stars but not a vinny, with his swimsuit on that was hanging out.

I'm not quite sure here, but I think it was Baddog who said "the people at Hedo look like the people at your grocery store." Baddog, we don't all shop off of South Beach! lol Yes, there where a lot of hard bodies during the first part of our trip. (Possibly due to the Playboy channel filming there) Did we feel uncomfortable? No, not at all. It evened out later in the week.

Many more highlights to share but you will have to experience them yourselves.

Lowlights;

To much raised bricks around the resort which leads to skinned toes. We watched many people tripping. The best or should I say worst was at the top of the slide while I went to watch my wife slide down and stubbed my toe. I figure the guy that designed this resort reads the trip reports and laughs his or her ass off at all of the people that have tripped there. So watch your step when you are walking around the resort.

The off site activities for the most part were disappointing for those that took them. Make sure you ask how long of a bus ride there is etc.

Two girls from Canada that everyone said couldn't be 17. Even the single guys steered clear! Parents from somewhere in Canada, you didn't know where your kids where. Hedo... have you heard of fake ID's?

Now for the bad one. Off the deep end single guy. The guy explaining that he was not going to take any sh-t from anyone and he was going to find a gun to shoot this other guy's ass. "I just got out of prison and I'm not taking any sh-t." Not sure, but if your on probation can you travel abroad? Figured we should stir clear of this guy! Next night...he was in the disco with a women. Started to mop the floor with her. People asking workers, aren't you going to do something? No mon. Doesn't look that bad yet. He left,... people helped her off the floor, she was o.k. Next day...he showed up clothed on the nude side asking all women if they were married. Started snapping pictures of people. Security said get lost. He mooned everyone and spanked his ass. Hmmm...didn't we just have a thread about single guys mooning? Now, first time people don't fret on reading this in deciding to come to Hedo. Remember, he lives in the U.S.

It was quite obvious that the security should concentrate on the prudes wondering over to the nude side and gauking. Happened far too often. We really enjoyed ourselves in the nude environment but didn't care for the prudes looking for a show if they were not brave enough to join in the fun.

Now for the trip back to the airport! We had to be ready to go at 4:00 am on Saturday. We had hoped to stay up all night but, he was too tired to make it ...and she was...too tired to fight about it....life in the Hedo lane. Eagles, song. Needless to say we didn't get much sleep in fear of not hearing our alarm or getting our wake up call for the early departure. Another couple along with us were on the bus at 5:00 A.M. on the way to the airport. Now remember our smug comments earlier about snow on the roads. Well, NASCAR drivers had nothing on this guy. It was dark when we left and he showed all his skills while driving. I really liked his passing skills in the dark. Why didn't I ever think of turning off my lights while passing up a hill to see if there where on coming cars. We stopped at another resort to pick up another person and still managed to get to the airport in 58 min. White knuckle!

All in all it was a great vacation. Would recommend it to anyone that is willing to go nude. Kind of a tame week while we were there compared to some of the trip reports that we have read, but non the less we had a great time. We are thinking that we will try Hedo II next year for no other reason than to see Negril and Hedo II. If you're thinking about it, just do it, it's a lot of fun.

Excluded my most embarrassing moment. Perhaps there will be a thread that I will respond to and share with all the story.
