Chris & Liz - 02/01

Chris & Liz - Hedo 3 - Feb 1-8, 2001 (SuperSurprise+)

This report will include some comparisons of H2 & H3 for our H2 buddies &
those considering both.

We've just returned from our reconnaissance trip to Hedo 3 - a nice place
overall though very different from H2 in some respects.    Here's a quick
summary:

1st, the pros & cons for those who don't want to read the long, tedious,
laborious stuff farther below:

Pros:
Great "quad" area (4 buildings surrounding a very nice pool/tub/bar)
Excellent food & staff - like H2
Great rooms - much better than H2 (awesome in fact... they rule.)
Excellent main pool area - lots of nice & interesting features (bridges,
waterfalls, slide, etc..)
Much nicer appearance of the grounds & buildings overall vs H2.
The disco has a cage & a pole (woo hoo!!....)  both saw some 'interesting'
usage. (Chris drools shamelessly at this point)

Cons:
Nude beach, pool & hot tub were small & not particularly well laid out.
Very slippery tiles around the pools (Duh!!!) & walkways.
Far fewer costumes/slutwear at dinner.(Liz really missed seeing the outfits &
getting more ideas....example: we were the ONLY ones who wore Bare As You
Dare for dinner Wednesday night, tho we did see an outfit or two later in the
evening.)
Smaller & less raucous piano bar.
Smaller disco, and the bar & dance floor are one room - vs H2's separate bar,
which is great for socializing.
Clientele - younger (10 yrs avg?) and no obvious established groups yet.
This tended to make the guests less entertaining than at H2.  The energy
that the groups bring to H2 was sadly missing from H3...tho we did bring
quite a bit of our own.

We also missed being able to take the 'loop walk' thru the grounds like at H2
(prude beach to nude beach/hot tub & up & around thru the grounds to the
dining area). Hadn't really thought about this at the time, but in
retrospect, the nightly walk thru H2 was always fun.

Overall, H3 seemed like "Hedo-lite" in this respect - with more people
tending to socialize in couples or small groups.   Oh, by the way - we won
the "best couple" award at the PJ party - a testament to the slightly more
tame guest population vs H2.

OK - now the longer, more detailed version....

VERY nice buildings & grounds.    There are lots of interesting architectural
features - decks & walkways along the shore, spiral stairways & bridges
scattered around the pools.    The place is much more compact than H2.   The
grounds are nice - well kept gardens, gazebos, and other decorative
structures.   The buildings are all 3 story & are very cheerful &
nice-looking.... all are white, and each has different color trim...which
makes it easier to remember your building!

The rooms are great - a huge difference from H2.   They're bigger & all have
either a pool or ocean view.    Ours was a poolside "swim up" room, which
means 1st floor pool view -  with french doors which open onto the pool deck.
The bathrooms are also a major difference.    All have a small 2-person
oval shaped jacuzzi tub (bring bubble bath!), next to french-type windows
which open out to the pool or ocean.   Amazingly (by H2 standards) there was
plenty of consistent hot water... oh the luxury of it all!   Overall, the
rooms are very well done indeed.   There's cable TV as well, which is
actually nice to have.   One channel has a closed circuit camera view of the
main dining room, so you can tell what's happening re: food & entertainment.
For those of you who have an exhibitionist streak, this could be a plus as
well!    :)    The Playboy channel also had some 'interesting' stuff on
occasionally.   (grin)    There's a vcr built into the TVs if you want to
bring your movies. : )

True to the rumors, the nude beach is lousy vs H2 - small (maybe 75 ft wide),
and totally enclosed by decks & man-made breakwaters.    The water is shallow
(3-4 ft), and the bottom is a bit rocky in spots.    It's ok for dipping &
floating, but it isn't a match for the beautiful Negril scenery.    The prude
beach was similar in size & layout to H2.
H3 does have Nola working the nude beach & pool area bringing you
drinks...which is quite nice. She's a fun, energetic person & adds to the
ambiance. Of course this keeps you from ever leaving your beach chair &
socializing with the pool folks so it can add to the pool & beach people not
socializing.

Overall, H3 seems much more "pool focused".    The main (prude) pool is quite
extensive, with nooks, bridges, cool bubbling tub, waterfall walls, and of
course.... the awesome waterslide.    This is a great feature - nice to zip
down the (3+ story high) slide, then scramble up to the elevated (glass
bottom) hot tub to warm up.   This tub was superb, with a nice view of the
Caribbean & the main courtyard area.   The glass bottom aspect was good for
perverts like me (Chris) too.   >:)   (evil grin)

The nude pool area wasn't nearly as large as H2 - maybe 1/2 the size overall.
It looks out over the Caribbean, which was nice, but on the whole, it
seems a little cramped - both in & around the pool.   The nude hot tub was
way too small by H2 standards.   It's circular - about 10 ft diameter.
Good for schmoozing with other tub people, but there aren't any 'private
corners' like at H2.  Good for fun & games with all participants though.
Also noteworthy is that the nude pool & nude beach areas are a bit more
separated than at H2, so there tends to be less mingling between the pool
people & the beach people.    All in all, the nude beach/pool area was just
'adequate' - one of the more significant negative features of H3.

The "quad pool" was a highlight of the resort in our opinion - salvaging H3
from being "just ok".   4 guest room buildings surround a reasonably large
pool complex, including a hot tub (same size as the nude tub), bar, and
several decks.   This area tends to be used only be the people in the 100 -
400 buildings, so there's plenty of space - it was like having our own
private pool facility.   The area is officially prude, but was obviously
clothing optional by choice of the guests.    This would be a great place for
groups to room - convenient to the nude section, as well as the main dining
areas.   There tended to be conversation and  fun (some of it quite
explicit.... Chris begins to pant & moan...) around the tub every nite till
dawn - a nice 2nd choice when the nude tub is full - or empty, depending on
your persuasion   :)

The food, staff and activities were all good - much like H2.    Our dinner at
Pastafari easily rivaled a good restaurant in the USA.    The antipasto &
caesar salad bar in particular were superb.    The wine was a bit lame
(similar to H2).   The champagne was quite decent - though the bars appeared
to ration it... somehow they always 'ran out' after 1 or 2 bottles.    Go
figure.    :)    The managers' cocktail party appetizers were as good as
anywhere, and the deck atop the scotch bonnet grill is a great place for
viewing the Caribbean & surrounding coast & mountains - very nice at sunset.

And finally.... the guests.    The crowd seemed younger - we guessed 10 years
on average.    Many, many more 20s & 30s people, and far fewer 50s & 60s.
One of our friends commented that perhaps Superclubs was aiming H3 at this
younger crowd - tailoring the facilities a bit more toward the younger, prude
guests.   This could well be true.... perhaps H3 is destined to be the junior
version of H2?   The clientele seemed slightly less outgoing vs H2, though
everyone was still quite nice.    Many of the most outgoing & wonderful
people we met were H2 veterans - with all the warmth & great sprit that we
came to love at H2.   They included our dear friends & partners in crime
Linda & John - the nicest & sharpest-witted folks on the planet (despite
John's unfortunate attempt at  burning down the piano bar with his flaming
Bob Marley). We'll see you guys again - you can't get away that easily!
  (fiendish chuckle)

Larry & Karen - wonderful folks to talk with - we'll remember Larry - naked &
dripping wet from the waterslide, at the main bar.... chatting completely
unconcernedly with several astonished new arrivals.    Bill and Carrie - a
great young couple, who saw us off in grand mooning H2 tradition, after doing
an amazing turnaround from a rather  conservative start.    Lori & Kirk -
another great young couple.... Kirk, our resident scuba expert, & Lori
enjoying her 1st nude beach experience - complete with participating in the
dinnertime battle of the sexes  - great orgasm Lori!   :)    Just as with
Hedo 2, the wonderful folks we met at H3 really set the vacation apart from
other non-Hedo trips.   We love you guys & hope to see you again!

Very best to you all.    We're soon to be working on the details of the
November trip.   Stay tuned & see y'all soon!

Best,

Chris & Liz
