Billy & Tammy - 06/01

This is our trip report, that is my wife (Tammy) and I (Billy). Our visit consisted of 4 nights/5 days-June 10th-14th.

We began our fine journey at DFW airport and had an uneventful flight to Montego Bay via Sun Country Airlines. Upon arrival, we soon discovered that we had been bumped, so called upgraded to Grand Lido Braco. Reason: The overbooking nightmare expressed by many on this website. I guess mathematics are not part of the educational curriculum utilized by the Hedo booking staff or maybe they just had to make room for the unannounced unwelcome SHOWTIME staff. I believe it should be pretty simple to book the proper amount of visitors based on the number of available rooms, but I guess not. So we fought and argued for thirty minutes (while still at the airport), just to obtain the reservations that we had made three months prior. We were finally provided with the room we had booked, which I am sure resulted in someone else being bumped. Needless to say we were "pissed Off", but later realized that we should have taken the upgrade. But, at the time it was just the principal of the matter.

The bus ride to the resort was pathetic, it was like a roller coaster with no safety devices.

The anticipated arrival at the resort: At first appearance all seemed well. Check In was uneventful, the most rapid we have experienced-GOOD Sign.

ROOMS: The rooms were clean and nice, until we discovered the air conditioning was awful, the drain plug in the tub did not work and the opening windows over the tub possessed a broken hindge arm, which allowed it to swing freely in the wind. The resort may be relatively new, but it is quickly aging.

FOOD: The food was good, the Japaneese restaurant was the best. Note: The italian restaurant serves pizza after 10 p.m. only and it is great.

DRINKS: The drinks were good and strong. They did not seemed to be watered down as many resorts seem to weaken their drinks.

SERVICE: The service was good, slow at times, but overall good.

BEACHES: The beaches were terrible. My wife and I are beach people, we take our vacations in beach locations, because we love the ocean and we love the beach. This was a major damper for us, we had no idea that the beaches and such would be so pitiful. I mean, the mountains, the foilage and all was beautiful, but people visit beach resorts for the beach. I think we could have located a nicer place to swim at a near by lake and saved the $2,000+ we spent to go to this resort. The amazing part, is just nine months prior, we visited Breezes Runaway Bay, not a half a mile away and the beaches and such was beautiful. But, Hedo three possess' man made beaches and swimming areas that are filled with rocks and weeds, especially the au natural area, which is about a 100 X 100 foot area. This was the biggest disappointment of all. My recommendation is that if your insistant on trying out the Hedo thing and you enjoy the beach, Hedo 2 must be better, because as far as the beach is concerned, you could not find worse if you tried.

POOLS: To shallow and the nude side to small.

ENTERTAINMENT: The staff performed as well as to be expected, but there just was not any major highlights for us.

CATAMARAN CRUISE: This excursion was to be away from the resort at an additional charge of course, something we had highly looked forward, the nude booze cruise or nude sunset cruize, either would have done, but turns out neither were offered during our five day visit.

SHOWTIME (filming): This event highly pissed us off. We do not vacation locations like HEDO or any other au natural areas to be filmed and have it broadcast on cable T.V. for all to view or to be forced to avoid the camera all week long. But, apparently the Hedo management thought all was well and fine with this because they allowed it to occur. Maybe in the future they should consider advising visitors to the resort, prior to taking their money.

WEATHER: The weather was great, no rain and plenty of sunshine.

SWINGERS or so called LIFESTYLERS: Pain in the butts. Everywhere we went they drove my wife crazy. Theres not a minute of privacy, unless you lock yourself in your room. Its like a bunch of buzzards waiting for an animal to fall over dead for consumption. The nude side is mostly filled with older out of shape folks, while the younger crowd tends to remain on the prude side; and after viewing the vultures, who can blame them. My wife and I kept asking ourselves "what made these 50 year old out of shape old men even think that a 29 year old in shape happily married woman would be interested in them". You can not have a normal conversation or even acknowledge the majority of visitors, without them thinking you want to sleep with 'em. Maybe it was due to the time of year or just the crowd of the time. Either way we were repulsed.

OVERALL: Well we experienced the so called wild Hedo resort. As far as comparisons: We enjoy resorts with au natural facilities, without the aggravations of the "lifestylers". We cannot make a comparison with Hedo two, but i'm sure it could not be worse and needless to say we will not ever be able to make that comparison. I think the best comparison would be comparing the NFL to the XFL, the intention is there, but it just don't quite cut it. If yor looking for a resort with awful weed and rock filled beaches, aggravating swingers and marijuana smoke that would fumigate the African nation, then Hedo is the place to go. We feel they should change the saying from "Be wicked for a Week" to "Be disgusted for a Week".
