Mark & Gina - 04/00

Well my wife and I have been back from our first trip to Hedo III for
about 3 weeks now. We went April 24th to the 30th. I did look some of the
trip reports before going and will try not to repeat the same things. We have
been to Jamaica before and always have a great time. After this trip to Hedo
III I promised my wife that we would go back to the island at least once a
year. I feel that these all inclusive trips are great for any marriage or
just to regain one's sanity. Ok, well about the Hedo III trip. As I said this
was our first Hedo experience and as most people we really didn't know what
to expect! The ride to the resort was as expected as in all the other trip
reports, so I won't bore you with the details. All I have to add is that
Jamaica is a poor country and the ride there shows this, so don't get
depressed at the way people live. Jamaican people are some of the friendliest
people I have ever met so don't judge them or the resort by what you see on
the ride there.
Resort:
As for the resort, EXTRA GREAT MANN. The entertainment staff was great.
we participated in a lot of activities and I advise everyone to do the same.
We spent time at the main pool mostly and did what we wanted to do ( nothing
). One of the first things we did was get to know the resort. We walked the
whole grounds so that we knew where everthing was the first day. Game room
was nice but I can't figure out why theses fancy resorts have such a problem
keeping Ping-Pong balls ( ARE PEOPLE SMOKING THEM? ). The workout room was
small but my wife dragged me in there just about every day and after working
out I always felt better.
Rooms:
Well all I can say is that we spent little time in the room, so my
feeling is let yourself be surprised as to where your located ( except near
the disco ). We were by the Quad pool and yes, the courtyard noise effect at
4:30A.M. is loud but closing the windows worked for me! Pleanty of shampoo
and soap were supplied. Towels are your typical hotel towels ( too small ) so
we grabbed some beach towels each night on the way back to our room. Cable
TV, which I think was stuck on the playboy channel was nice. Air-conditioner
remote didn't work ( oh well )! Oh, and I thought swim up rooms were right on
the pools edge, there actually about 6' from the edge. FYI.
Nude Beach and Pool:
We're a very outgoing couple and most people knew us in the resport
either on stage in cowboy toga's or just chatting at the bar. Unlike most we
didn't spend a whole lot of time in the nude area, so when we showed up one
night at the nude hot tub people we met couldn't believe Ward & June Cleaver,
as we were called by our friends were there. Your trip is what you out of it
especially at Hedo III. Your options are wide open to doing what you want to
do or getting as wild as you want withoutr any pressure. So if your worried
about what people will think of you or of others starring at you, that is not
the case. All the people we met were the friendliest people we ever met!
Piano Bar:
We didn't discover the piano bar until the end of our trip but my wife
found out ?I can sing and everone else found out the she con play the piano.
You have to try it out at least once. You have to understand tat we are the
couple with 2 young kids that are used to going to bed at 10:30P.M. We wetre
now on the 5:00A.M. schedule ( too mutch fun to sleep )
Water Sports:
Our first time scuba diving and I highly recommend it. The staff was
great with she short lessons and made you fell very comfortable. On the 40'
dive, the staff watched us like hawks and were right on you if you seemed to
have any kind of problems.
Food:
We ate at the buffet most of the time. Food was about an 8 on a scale of
1-10 but always lots of choices. One of the dissappointments was that lobster
was out of season and we were really looking forward to the lobster tail
night in the buffet but settled with really spicy-spicy shrimp. We did one
evening eat at Scotch Bonnet overlooking a beautiful sunset, that was really
nice. The Japanese restaurant was nice ( my first time at one ) but I wasn't
impressed. we never did eat at Pastafara's so i can't tell about that but I
heard it was very good.
Conclusion:
Well as I said before yor vacation is what you make of it. Don't expect
to be in the best room with a working remote control air-conditioner, room
service at the instant you call, or ping-pong balls all over the place. Do
expect to relax in the most friendlist environment with people that are there
for the same reason as you. TO DO NOTHING. As far as the wild Hedo III, wild
is all in how you perceive it or act on it. So don't be afraid to go
becauseof what you may have heard. Yes, we would and are going to go again.
After this trip it will now be an annual event to Jamaica and defiantly to
Hedo III next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
