Keith & Margaret - 09/00

We are a Brit couple who went to Hedo 3 between September 3rd and 14th 2000.

We were Hedo virgins and really didn't know what to expect. It really was a great holiday and we made some very good acquaintances who we hope will turn into good friends.

It was great to run into Phil & Terri who have a report on your pages for March 2000 and we saw a lot of Darrel & Letty. There were loads of other couples who were great to hang out and chat to, but we didn't get all their names.

'Gonzo' and 'Mrs Gonzo ' we never did hear of how he got to be called that, was fun and we were glad to be able to let him know the result of the Italian Grand Prix and we will look out for him in the crowd at the USA Grand Prix at Daytona. It was quick thinking Gonzo to bring the sun umbrella into the Jacuzzi to protect our eyes and drinks from the heavy rain that Tuesday. It was quite an experience to sit in that big tub with a group of near strangers, drinks in hand the thunder clapping and the rain pelting down not really taking any notice of the storm.

Doctor Dave and his wife were a fun couple as were the couple who had the Doctors Treatment anyone on the 'Au natural' beach at the time knows what is meant there.

As for Adonis & Venus we believe all the other guys had only admiration for their staying power !!

The staff were fantastic. All very friendly and some quite wild. We will not forget PeeWee nor his way of 'encouraging' us to leave the Caribbean sea to join in his games (Its not for nothing his name is PeeWee!!) Antoinette at the bars, Nola the waitress in the A/n side and Michelle from the Scotch Bonnet and the main dining area are just a few we got the names of but all the staff were great.

The food was very good. we were a bit disapointed by the service at the Pastafari, being slow and not always accurate in the order but we did go 3 times. We missed out the Japanese restaurant as there was mainly fish but the main restaurant, the Scotch Bonnet and the bar food at the A/n bar were excellent in both food and service. The bar staff were very good and very entertaining as they cheerfully dispensed the drinks.

We went snorkelling over a great reef and would have loved to try scuba but Keith has a health history and wasn't allowed until he could produce a doctors letter saying he would be okay. The guys at the dive shop suggested we try faxing our doctor, but come on, ask a UK doctor to reply to something straight away !!! We'll have one in the bags next time we go

Mind you, perhaps we should have had a doctors letter for the bus ride from the Airport to the resort !! Wild was not a strong enough word for it. As the saying goes The Brits drive on the left side, the Americans on the right side, the Jamaicans drive on suicide !! but then we did arrive safely and did not hear of anyone else being involved in accidents so the drivers were up to it.

The rooms were very good and the bed comfortable and so large. We overlooked the Jacuzzi in the quad area. Its very attractive but being enclosed sound does travel there and the only real complaint we had was about the loudmouth who decided it was time to party loudly there after the Disco had closed about 2.30am to 4.30am and woke everyone else in the area with his shouting. This was not appreciated by anyone else and I just hope someone managed to get that through to him.

We felt very sad when it came time to leave so its back to saving up for next time as we will certainly get back

Best wishes,

Keith & Margaret
