Gary & Kathy - 11/00

Hedo III Nov 4- 11

Tried to write this trip report sooner but for some reason it seemed like it would bring our vacation to a final closure. My memory is getting cloudy so this will not be a day-by-day report just bare with me.

Anyway this was our first time at au natural resort, beach, etc.  Thanks to this board and the H III message board – it is invaluable for first times.  As a result of the visitor section we were able to meet several other couples so we could correspond prior to the actual trip- again extremely helpful- recommend it to all, especially first times.

We arrived in Jamaica via Air Jamaica from Atlanta- Without boring you with the routine delays etc, we would highly recommend anyone who does not have a passport to acquire one. Not that you need one, it just lessens the hassles of going thru customs and having to root for and present several documents showing your citizenship about a zillion times.

We took the bus, and overall the trip was not so bad, LONG, but the roads were not as expected. We had visited Ochos Rios so we had some prior knowledge. Made the usual stop for refreshments along the way.  The driver was great pointing out various sites, resorts etc, including the bridge in the James Bond movie. Guess our anticipation to get to Hedo made the trip longer than it was.

Arrived around 2 pm and began the wait for our room- we met another couple in the lobby that we had communicated with, so the wait was more bearable. (We had exchanged photos- made it easy to id everyone).  Crazy Shaun was taking care of our check-in and since we had a wait (gee who would have thought) we went to the dining room for a bit. 3 o’clock rolled around and still no room- hmmm, we were suppose to meet the other couples of the Hedo Loop (email group) at the nude pool at 3 for drinks and introductions.  We proceeded to the nude pool but being clothed we felt like monsters with 6 arms and legs, so after getting eye balled we went back to the lobby.  Yeah our room was ready- 3rd floor building 7- view of nude pool and ocean. Fantastic.

It took about 10 minutes to unpack (took to many clothes) and head to the nude area.  After finding a chaise we sat down and began the very hesitant removal of our clothes.  Kathy was very apprehensive (not me- of course) so I kept telling her “don’t even think about it, just do it”- which she did, but being very cautious when someone walked by to position her hands and arms in all the right places- or not so right places. Again we met up with members of the Loop (sorry I am very bad with names- maybe for the better here though).  Before long, we forgot about not being clothed and thus began a fabulous week.

Food.   Italian and Japanese are exceptional- make reservations early and days ahead, dining room- good food but not always hot. Service was slow- but didn’t really care. Nude grill and Scotch Bonnet good.

Drinks             Plentiful and always flowing. Recommend going to the bar vs. waiting for waitress if in a hurry- and don’t forget the thermos cups.

Nude Beach            Small but never crowded- rafts were plentiful.

Nude pool and hot tub- again never seemed crowded.

Prude side pool- empty, beach empty.

Sleep-  do it when you return home

Fun            Everywhere, 24 hours everyday.  Staff- fantastic- friendly, thanks for a great time.  Body shots, almost daily, if you haven’t, you have too experience. Vinnies- a few- only 1 that was a bother.

Sex      Yes there was and we even had the pleasure to experience ourselves.  Some great spots- just scout them out.

Summary- We had one of the best times we have ever had- Hated to leave and cannot wait to go back.  Surprises: when Kathy was topless at the dining room and they would not let her in to judge the men’s wet shorts contest- she stomped off, steaming mad because she could not go in topless- this from someone who just a few days ago did not want to remove her top in public.  Guests- greatest- Friendliest people we have met on a vacation, relaxed. It’s amazing that a man or woman can be standing etc nude and you have a conversation with them and do not even think about being nude. Totally Awesome.

Negatives:  yes there was some- Resort should be clothing optional in all areas.  The nude crowd far exceeded the prudes but was limited by them. After all when you visit a nude resort wouldn’t you expect to see people nude?  Nudes should rule and not the prudes, well if they do not like it then don’t look. Rules: not all staff (management agree when it is okay and where to be nude or not). Music- vary the type-

We cannot wait to return-
