Curt & Kathy - 03/00

We (Kathy & Curt) were at hedo III from 3/15/00 thru 3/22/00. This was our first trip to Jamaica, so have nothing to compare it to like most of your Reporters. We went on a SuperSuprize and found out one week before departing that we were going to Hedo III. We had read about all the SuperClub resorts on the internet beforehand and I was really excited to be going to Hedo III, my wife on the other hand was a little apprehensive after reading all the stories on the Hedo Resorts. Well, to say the least, she (and I) hated to leave!

We are from northwest Indiana and flew out of O'Hare on ATA. We went on FunJet Vacations and flew out at 6:30 AM. Funjet offered a "Park & Stay" program where you can drive to Chicago the day before and stay in the Wyndam Gardens O'Hare, then they took you to your terminal at O'Hare, picked you up on your return, and kept your car for the week for you. This was very convenient for an early morning flight (no worries about traffic making you late). The flight was about 3 1/2 hrs, and on time both ways.

Once in Montego Bay, everything went just as we had read from all of you! Gansha was offered before we even got to the SuperClubs counter, Red Stripes in hand before we even got on the bus, and if you aren't energized yet, the bus ride (about 14 of us) is everything spoke of and more! WOW! Our driver was kind enough to stop on the road about halfway there for one Already Wasted Guy who kept yelling at the bus driver that he could'nt make it to the rest stop and was going to piss in his bus. He was going to Golf & Beach, so we never saw him after the ride. It seemed our whole bus was happy to see him get off there. Next was the obligatory rest stop and more Red Stripes. On to Hedo III !

We swamped the reception counter, but everyone there seemed use to this and were more than polite. Kathy and I were told by Anthony our room would be ready shortly and we could wait at the main bar outside, get a drink, and they would come and get us. Walking up to the bar I saw a lady sitting there topless in a thong. Right away I thought about the complaints I had read that they should make the main (Prude) side topless optional. Before we could finish one drink Anthony came and told us our room was ready. Our room was in the 100 block, third floor. It overlooked the Quad-Pool and deck, where many ladies sunned topless. The Hot Tub in the Quad-Pool also got interesting in the late-night, early morning hours. The only complaint we had about the room was that there was only one ashtray. I called housekeeping and asked if they could leave one or two more a couple of times, which never did happen. I guess if it was that important to us we would have carried one up from somewhere.

One of the things that can never be said enough is all the friends that are made while you are there. Some were there from Chicago O'Hare and back, others came and went as the week went by. It was always sad to see someone you were having a great time with have to say goodbye, but the hardest was saying goodbye when it was our turn to leave. One thing we did was to exchange E-mail addresses with everyone and had our pictures put on Kodak Picture CD's and have been exchanging pics with our new friends. Of course the other new friends we made were the staff! We have to agree with everyone else that they were the best! Tristin and the entertainment crew, the watersports crew, the housekeeping crew, and everyone's favorites, the bartenders...Super-Sonic, Ann-Marie, Grandville, Susanne, Carl, David, my quiet buddy Coswell, and all I missed! Every bartender has at least one drink that is there personal concoction, so make sure to ask each one to make you there's at least once. I tried many drinks, but drank mainly Red Stripes all day. Grandville or Sonic would see me walking toward the bar, Yell BEERMAN, and have it sitting on the bar by the time I got there, What Service! Last, but not least was Simone.....

Many of the complaints we read seemed to have been taken care of, or they were trying to be. The topless optional suggestion on the main (not so prude anymore) side was in full swing, the beach, the main pool, the quad-pool, the bars, the main deck, and quad deck. The only place people seamed to stay wrapped was in the terrace during meals, IMHO as it should be on that side. Not only at night, but now a favorite mid-afternoon cooldown was naked waterslides, which seemed to become one of our groups daily rituals. The entertainment crew seemed to get more people involved in the daily games,of which we partook in many. The toga night was great with about 50/50 in togas. They did stress all day "No Sheet..No Eat..No Bullsheet!", but allowed those without to eat anyway. They make it look easy in toga tying demonstrations, but we found out it's not that easy back in our rooms, and remember "No underwear under the togas, the panty patrol will be on hand". I never saw the panty patrol, but proved I was following the rules by flashing the crowd while on stage for the contest. I think that is what got me second place, first went to a professional toga outfit!.....Back to Simone, I met her the second day we were there and mentioned that they seemed to be lightening up on the rules from what I had read on the internet. She agreed and said I must have been reading DennyP's Site. How's that for a compliment! Simone and I talked several times after that and I must say she is a wonderful lady!

I Could tell many more stories, but this is probably already too long. As Jamaican Virgins, with nothing to compare Hedo III with, a fantastic time was had by all and we will return again this winter! We will take the SuperSuprise again, If we end up at Hedo III again, Great! If not ,Great also! Hey, it's SuperClubs!                    Till then...Irie!
