We
returned home from Hedo III on Saturday January 22 after spending 7 wonderful
nights. Our trip started normally with a wild bus ride through the Jamaican
countryside. Anyone who is afraid to fly should ride one of these busses just
once and they would be glad to get in the air. But we did make it to the
resort in one piece so we cant complain.
Hedo
III is a very beautiful resort. We had an ocean front room and the view was
wonderful. We left the large windows open most of the time to get the ocean
air. Rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. There are hair dryers in
the rooms now but many still do not have shower curtains. The bathroom floors
are equipped with drains so if water does get on the floor it drains off. The
Jacuzzi bathtubs are also great though we didnt use it much as it was much
more fun in the hot tub. Each room has two safes to lock up valuables. Keys
and the lock cylinders are available at the desk so ask when you check in.
The
staff at Hedo III was one of the best we have ever run across. We can honestly
say we never ran into any staff member who didnt try to please us. The
activity coordinators made our stay fun. They did an excellent job. Tristan
[The Night Nurse] stands out above all the rest. Our little group had a blast
with him and I would like to ask anyone going to Hedo III to say hi to him
from Bob and Jill / Ind. He will know who we are.
The
food at Hedo III was good and if you go make sure you try the Japanese
restaurant. The meal there was great. 7 courses in all and all great.
Wednesday we enjoyed grilled lobster in the main dining area.
The
only major complaint we had was the temperature control on the nude hot tub.
They just could not seem to get it right. The attendants tried to control
manually but why the automatic temperature control didnt work is a good
question for management. The pools were very nice but the water is not heated
and was too cold for swimming. They really should think about installing pool
heaters. The bar at the nude area is situated to serve the nude pool and is
mostly at the pool level. Unless you wanted to brave the cold water, you had
to have the bartender lift your drinks to you. After dark the staff did an
excellent job serving drinks to the hot tub.
The
distinction between the nude side and prude side is not as evident at Hedo
III. There is a nude beach and hot tub that has signs posted but many entered
the area with clothes on. Also nude sliding was common at the water slide that
runs through the disco. In fact many stripped in the disco and went down the
slide. All 3 of the resort hot tubs were used as nude tubs. It seems like Hedo
III is trying to be a totally clothes optional resort. This concept is great
and they should advertise it as such.
As
far as the wildness factor, we had a lot of fun. We met many new friends at
Hedo III and plan a return visit with them. Hedo III might not be as wild as
Hedo II, but it is getting there. After all what makes it wild and fun is the
attitude of the people there. We had a great group the week of our stay.
