Desire – 1st Trip
July 23-30, 2006

It was our first trip to Desire, it won’t be our last.  We have been to Hedo 3 twice before so we really wanted a change of venue and a chance to see what else was available in terms of an all inclusive, nude, adult only resort.  We were very pleased with Hedo and were even more so with Desire.

For those of you who have never been to either, if you are looking for something different, something with an erotic edge then you’ll have a hard time going wrong with either resort.  Both have brought a new sense of excitement to our relationship and now give us something we both look forward to doing together all year long.

What to say…  I guess our perspective will be mostly a comparison with H3.  Again we have had really great experiences at both, but there is a distinctly different flavor between them.

No more “come soon mon” at Desire.  The level of service is just better.

The food is pretty comparable although I think the selection at H3 between 4 and 7 in the morning was better as at Desire all you get is pizza after hours and that is gone by 4 am or so.  Guess you could argue that Hedo serves leftovers from the night before while Desires pizza is cooked fresh right in front of you.  OK, we’re calling this point a draw.

No single guys!  We had a great time with single guys at H3 and have no problem with them, well with a minority.  For every 1 single guy who was considerate and well mannered, there were three or four nimrods who thought they could just swim up and start fondling your wife or sit opposite you in the hot tub and blatantly stare.  While it didn’t bother us that much at H3, it was pleasantly non-existent at Desire.

Clothing optional vs. no clothing allowed.  OK, small point but we preferred the option.  We were pretty much naked the whole time but it was nice to be able to walk through the pool area without feeling guilty for wearing clothes.  Also we like that everyone was welcome to join us, naked, topless or otherwise.  It’s nice that at a place like this people can accept others as they come, even if they come with clothes.

Montezuma didn’t reap his revenge on us.  We brushed our teeth with the tap water, rinsed our mouths with it, I shaved with it.  We drank frozen drinks and included ice in every drink which called for it.  Our Imodium remains untouched.

We missed our Hedo friends.  We made new ones.  The quality of our trips seems to be largely effected by the people who are there with us.  The mood at each resort changes as different people come and go.  Just about a wash but we think Desire is probably slightly more lifestyle oriented.

Desire has a beach!  It’s really long and has nice white sand and beautiful clear water.  Desire wins this one hands down.  We actually swam in the ocean, something we have never done at H3.

Desire never runs out of towels, they win.  I think they use starch on their towels to make them stiff and rough.  Fabric softener would be nice. We mentioned that on our critique when we checked out.

Desire has a “fun room”, we like the fun room.  Hedo 3 didn’t have one of those.  Big plus for Desire. OK, maybe I’m a bit paranoid but it has only one entrance/exit which is a small hallway between the bar and the control room for the disco. Might be a tough exit in a fire.

Desire had a nice steady supply of hot water, Hedo didn’t.  Also the Jacuzzi at Desire has a thermostat that works.  Nice even temperature all the time, down side is there is just one of them (Jacuzzi) and it’s only open from 1 pm to 3 am, we could have used another hour or so on at least one occasion.

Lots of cigarette smokers in the disco at Desire or so it seemed to us non smokers.  Hedo 3 didn’t seem to have that issue, OK Hedo wins this one.

Hedo has a really cool water slide, multiple Jacuzzi’s, multiple pools and a water volleyball net up 24/7 at the quad for whatever all that is worth.  Desire needs a really cool waterslide, yea I’ve had trouble growing up…J

The room was fine, nothing fancy but much like Hedo, we just never spent much time there.  The shower is open and gets the bathroom floor pretty wet.  The sink was a bit high for my 5’1” wife.  The key to our door didn’t work on 4 or 5 occasions.  4 or 5 times I got to go to the lobby butt naked to get the key reprogrammed, not sure if that is a plus or a minus, hehehe.  Don’t leave food in your room the ants will show up.  We loved the bathrobes and the bottled water in the mini fridge.

The palapas filled up early and the shaded spots around the pool went fast.  Also the sheets were removed from the palapas in the evening so after hours romance on the beach required some prior planning in terms of showing up with some towels.  We did notice that people were “reserving” the palapas and watched as they sat vacant for hours.

Desire has these little bugs called “no-see-ums”, that bite.  One day out of eight the wind stopped blowing.  We got to meet a few on that day.  Not as bad as mosquitoes but still a bit annoying.  Never saw them the other seven days.

OK, Angela say’s wrap it up, so, in conclusion….  Great vacation.  Desire was a lot of fun and we will almost certainly return.  Thanks to everyone we partied with, let’s all get back together and do it again!!!
