Breezes Runaway Bay: Lori - February, 2004

Our vacation at Breezes, Runaway Bay was from 2/29/04 to 3/6/04. There were 6 in our group. We flew Air Jamaica nonstop, which was great. When we got to Montego Bay to the Superclubs desk we found out that they had my husband and I booked for Breezes Montego Bay. I said No Way! I paid for Runaway Bay! After about 11/2 hours of phone calls to BRB we were on our way. The ride to the resort was not as bad as I had feared considering some of the reviews I read. I think our driver was fairly conservative. We got to the resort and they said our rooms would be ready in about an hour so we headed off to get something to eat and drink. No Problem Mon! The Beach Grill was my favorite. Their jerk chicken was the best. We went to Hedo III (yeah mon) for a day pass and I tried their jerk chicken and I didnt like it near as much as Breezes. The rest of the places to eat at Breezes were good also. Plenty to choose from at the buffet. The drinks were great, if it didnt have enough alcohol in, just say the word and they would add to it. My favorite bartender was Delroy, he is a real sweetheart. He would mix me my own special drink. When he saw me coming toward the bar he would start mixing my drink for me before I even got there. Our rooms were nice. They were clean and smelled great. I took Lysol spray along, but didnt really need it. The air conditioning worked great, we even shut it off most nights. Plenty of water pressure and hot water. Although one day our shower unit broke, I called the front desk and they had it fixed in a couple of hours. Mostly all the staff are so friendly. The entertainment committee was great. They were fun to watch or play games with. That was the nice thing about Breezes, you could lay back and relax or you could join in on the games and have a great time with a bunch of other people. The beaches were nice and kept very clean. They had plenty of loungers to lie on. The nude beach was nice (my first au natural experience). It wasnt as many people as at Hedo III nude area, which could be a little intimidating to a beginner. The hot tubs were nice. The best one was the one on the nude side, it was the hottest (temperature) one there. We went on the Booze Cruise and had a lot of fun, snorkeled for 1/2 hour and then climbed Dunns River Falls. We met a lot of people from all over the states that we hope to keep in touch with. The only negative thing I really have to say about our vacation has nothing to do with the resort itself. On our second day there 5 busloads of foreigners came in (I will not mention from what country). These people were so snobbish and rude. They would butt right in front of you for drinks or food. 90% of them did not speak English and it made it real tough on the bartenders and cooks who could not speak their language. They ruined the PJ and Toga Partys that I was really looking forward to because I heard they can be so much fun. They packed the Disco bar and were not dressed for the party. They all had on fancy dresses and clothes that really ruined the theme party for every one else. We were so glad to see them go, but then we only had one night left. We didnt get to do any water sports while we were there. We had Red Flag every day. We had rain every morning and the water was pretty rough. If you have any questions about the resort feel free to e-mail me lorili212@yahoo.com. Our next visit will be to HedoIII with just my husband and I mainly because of the sensual atmosphere there. I would definitely recommend BRB to anyone who isnt that in to the nude beach. It was a very nice resort.
