Tiffany and Armando Trip Report April 18-27, 2013.
Titled: The Good, Bad, and Ugly

THE GOOD:
Overnighted in Miami so we could get 1030AM morning arrival.
Was off the plane, thru customs and leaving on the bus in 20
minutes!!!
LOVE one of the groups that was already there when we arrived. We have
travelled to
Hedo 2 other times during this groups week and they are friendly, fun,
and fantastic!
Had OVN room # 2222
everything worked perfectly!
good A/C, good shower/hot water/pressure, no leaks
Everyday saw old mattresses going out and new ones coming in.
We think the food has much improved. Actually went up for lunch
instead
of eating at the beach grills. First time for this in all of our trips.
The truffles are devine!
If you see them on the dessert station you better grab some first
because they go fast!
We grabbed extra to bring back to our room for late night sweet
tooths!!! HEEHEE
For lunch they have dips set up next to the desserts. You can miss them
sitting over there
but both Jalapeno dips they had were delicious! And the egg salad!!
YUM!YUM!
Nothing we ate ever made us sick. Glad for the 2 egg stations at
breakfast.
The pizza at the nude grill was an awesome addition! Kudos to the new
owners for that!
The pizza is delicious. One night went at 12 when they opened and had
the first pizza made
quickly. Other nights we went they had some already made and ready on
the counter.
And other nights it was a line of at least 5 people waiting. So, don't
expect a counter
full of pizzas everytime you go. But if you wait it is worth it!
They were doing alot of painting around the resort. All the black trim
on the buildings are being
repainted. Also, the short wall on the walkway around the exercise room
was being repainted.
The disco was perfect temperature and no smell ever. Walked through
there once during the day
and the A/C was on, so maybe that is helping with the smell. Liked the
music alot better this trip.
The piano bar is ALIVE again!!!!!
WATERSLIDE!!!! Love it.

guy! Saw someone
mentioned in another report they didn't see it open.
Friday's Rock Star Show is not to be missed! Winston and Nick do a
superb job!!!
We were there for 2 Friday's during our trip and both were different and
AWESOME!
OMG!!! The Steel Drum Band
(The Silver Birds I believe) on Monday night was
out of this world! I don't think my ears have ever heard steel drums so
awesomely.
DON'T MISS IT!

THE BAD:
Crappy weather!!!!!!! The whole first 3 days we had RAIN and more RAIN!
Between 11AM-6PM cloudy and rain every 45 minutes!!!!!!!
I miss lunchtime spin in the dining room. The EC's at the nude pool
during most
of the lunchtime/afternoon is a little too much.
Volleyball???? What
volleyball?? Armando LOVES to play beach volleyball but
never played once this trip...beach volleyball was non existent even tho
it is on
the activity schedule.
The LOUNGERS....PLEASE DO SOMETHING WITH THESE! Saw in another report
they were being "re-covered"???? When, I'd like to know? They are
terrible. All sagging.
You can't sit down on one without the head flying up. If you like to lay
flat I suggest you bring
some rope to tie the head down to the frame so the head doesn't pop up.
AND MORE LOUNGER SIDE TABLES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
The hot tub was TOOOOO HOT and TOOOOO MUCH CHLORINE! Burned my eyes and
my lungs!
Wish they would bring the RUM BOTTLE prize back! PLEASE! Otherwise,
T-shirts, mugs,
bandanas, or Hedo bag is all you get. (I actually use the rum to make
eggnog every Christmas.
Nothing like having a little slice of "free" Jamaican Appleton Rum
Heaven during the holidays in my eggnog!)
And I' ve already forgot where I stuffed all the crappy prizes we
brought home.
But did we have fun collecting the Hedo Bucks to "buy" those crappy
prizes??? HELL YES!!!!
At Repeaters Party. Surely thought we had won the drawing of free
nights!! Our room was 2222
they called 2...2...2 and
asked who's close???? My heart was beating so fast!! But unfortunately
they called....1
DAMN!!! Our next door neighbors!!!!!

Wish EC's could pick the costume winners. Although, if I were part of a
group I would want
them all screaming for me too

Not sure if I wanted to put this in the BAD or UGLY section.......I'll
put it here.
First, let me say prudes have NO BUSINESS being on the nude beach
with their clothes on.
We met a couple that were "prudes".(We are nudes) They wanted some pizza
so we took them to the
Pizza at the nude grill. They were having a good time at the bar and
felt comfortable enough
with us there with them, that they DID get nekkid. Matter of fact they
had such a grand time, we left
them there and went to bed! HAHA ......On 2 other occasions they went to
the nude grill with clothes on
(without us) AT 3:30 IN THE MORNING!!!!
The lady security guard
harrassed them to noooooo end
because of their clothes and they NEVER got their pizza BOTH times!!!
It is 3:30 in the damn morning
and the ONLY place to get food!!!
They simply wanted pizza to take back to their room.
THE SECURITY LADY HAS GOT TO LIGHTEN UP!!!!!!!
I understand if they would get their pizza
and stand around eating it on the nude side while gawking at people, but
come on!!!!! Maybe
she is jealous she can't get nekkid and have pizza too??? HA
When it comes to empty, hungry tummies/munchies
I think the prudes should get a tiny bit of leeway, especially a
couple going down there together at 330 in the morning.
THE UGLY:
I like to bring pool toys from home i.e. rubber duckys, beach balls,
etc. I put some in the pool on
Saturday April 20th. There was a big turnover to new arrivals at the
resort this day and
a number of new groups coming in. I have NO IDEA which group bombarded
the nude pool
but they took the rubber ducks and starting THROWING them AT
anybody and everybody. I call my
Rubber Duckys "flirty
squirts" ....they are sure not to be thrown at people!!!!!!!!
I am all for the Spring Break for adults 21 and up..... and that fun
Hedo vibe.....
BUT NOT SPRING BREAK FOR 10 YEAR OLDS!!!!!! I had planned 2 more days of
toys but
no way in hell I was going to waste them again this trip.
One of these "rubber ducky pelters" was "sitting" on one of the pool bar
stools. When we walked
up to order a drink the man kept saying (all the while he was up out of
the seat throwing my ducks at people)
"That is my seat, that is my seat" "Don't you sit there!!!!!"
If that is YOUR damn seat then sit in it!!!
Unfortunately there were alot of rude people that came in this day.
One of the groups was having their "pool party" up on the main pool
deck. Not a "party actually in the pool" as
it was after dinner. Another group decided it would be fun to "crash"
this party by introducing the
volleyball as a soccer ball. MOST OF US WOMEN ARE WEARING 3+ INCH HEELS
ON THE POOL DECK.
Why is there a SOCCER GAME going on at the pool deck?? Not a smart move
in my opinion.
The pool deck was packed and all the high heels were trying to dodge a
damn soccer ball.
And just when we thought it couldn't get any worse they decided to turn
the volleyball/soccer ball
into a hacky sac game!!!!! The ball was flying everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once again....yes, you guessed it
SPRING BREAK FOR 10 YEAR OLDS!
All in all, we had another fabulous trip in Hedo paradise. Will we go
back???? HELL to the YES!
Will we travel during this same time??? HELL to the NO!!!! We will do
the full week before... When that
friendly, fun, and fantastic other group is there! Although would love
to go during lobster season!! Who knows
maybe we can meet back up in November
:-) Like maybe
around Thanksgiving???
:-)
The new owners are doing a good job getting things back to where they
should be. Patience is a virtue.
To those that have a trip coming up or if you are thinking of
booking......don't worry!!!
