I decided to surprise my wife for our 20th anniversary of meeting each other with a trip to Negril which included 4 nights at Hedonism II. We had been to Negril three other times (July 83, June 97, and new years 98), but this was our first trip to Hedo. My wife was very nervous as we had never been to a clothing optional resort before. We paid for an ocean view room on the nude side as we didn't want to have to hassle with getting dressed to go to our room. We flew from Phoenix to L.A. and caught the red eye to MoBay on Air Jamaica. The flight was fine and we arrived at 7AM. It was nice to take the super clubs bus as it was large and wasn't driven by a kamikaze Rastaman like our other trips. Upon arriving at Hedo we were informed that we had booked a gardenview nude room and that it was not ready. I explained that this was not the case and after the staff made a phone call to our tour company everything was corrected. Our room was made available and we were unpacked by 11am. I must say that the staff was helpful and friendly. The first thing we noticed was that our toilet did not flush (the dreaded water pressure). I made a call to the front desk and got the "soon come" line (Later that night we figured out that if you smashed the handle down it would flush). Since I was the daring one of the two of us, I decided I would get some beach towels from the dive shop. I cruise out of the room naked and head to the dive shack. I felt pretty weird as everyone was dressed and looking at me like I had two heads . Seems the dive shack is on the prude side. I grab the towels and quickly go back to the room. I coax my wife into going out nude from the room after breaking down our inhibitions with some of the Islands fine herbs (the staff was very helpful and provide room service). It took us exactly five minutes to realize that this was going to be an excellent adventure once we got down to the nude bar and the main beach. Over the next four days we met some of the nicest people we have ever met. We met two couples from the prude side who we convinced to come down to the nude side. The women were shy at first but after a little while they realized that this was the place to be and they spent the rest of their stay on the nude side. All in all we ended up hanging out with three couples during our stay. My only regret is that we did not exchange e-mail addresses because we would love to have stayed in touch and they had the cameras. Next time we will bring some preprinted cards. We did meet up with Wes who we exchanged messages with on Denny's board at the toga party. That was really cool for all of us. The following are my observations of Hedo: The rooms are average (but who cares all you do is sleep and ...... in them), the buffets ranged from great on some days to average on others with the worst meal being the steak (I think) at the toga party and the best being lobster night. Pastafari was great the first time, average the second time (make reservations early). The drinks at the bar were awesome and we had our fill. Bloody Mary's at 10 am from Delroy to red stripes at 2 am. The nude beach was nice. We would drag the lounge chairs into the water and hang out. We found that easier then dealing with the rafts as it required no effort. The nude pool was great and the cold Jacuzzi was even better. The jets were strong and excellent for getting even more relaxed. The hot tub was were it happened. We saw plenty of loving going on and never once did we see any sex police. The Vinnie's and Wally's were there but we hardly noticed them. We had to leave Veronica's Piano Bar as the singing was so bad it was ruining our buzz.(We are Dead Heads so that may explain it). The hotel staff was first rate and they do except tips and are very grateful. We brought some gifts for the maid , but I am sure she appreciated the 100 J we left on the pillow each morning much more. In regards to the parties and events like the wet tee shirt contests, we could have done with out them. The models always one. We were really disappointed with the PJ party as the we were under dressed (we did look good though) with all the prudes being there and felt too self conscience. We left right away and had a real nice time on the deserted beach. The toga party was ok , but we could have easily done without it. Next time we will eat and not stay for it. Overall Hedo was the best vacation we ever took. The atmosphere is erotic and being naughty was great. We will go back and are trying to convince our best friends into going. Everyone fits in and you will see all types of body types and people from all over the world (Russia, Canada, USA, New York). We recommend it and remember pack light! We go in day packs. The best thing is about Hedo is the people you meet.
