Deanna & Dan's Hedonism II Trip - 02/98

First Timer's Report re: Hedonism Feb 1998

Looking for that special place to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary we came across an Air Jamaica Vacations brochure which listed many cool all-inclusive resorts. We waffled back & forth between Sandals & Hedonism. Upon further research on the net we chose the trip that would be the most memorable & offer all the fun stuff we love to do...Hedo has it all!

The non-stop flight from L.A. to Montego Bay was supposed to leave at 11:00 PM ... we sat in the plane for 1.5 hours waiting for them to repair a "mechanical problem". The plane was half full so we figured we could stretch out across the center seats and catch up on some sleep & be ready to go when we landed in "Mo" Bay. WRONG...the minute we departed we had turbulence (which the pilot said would only last about 45 minutes...WRONG) 5 hours of turbulence...the worst I have ever experienced...I had plenty of champagne to try to dull the stress that was rising inside me as stuff in the service areas was falling & the fasten seat belt stayed on the entire trip...going to the restroom was quite a challenge. Needless to say...no sleeping...even my airplane loving hubby was getting a little tense.

Finally, we arrived in Mo Bay Monday morning 8:30 AM Jamaica time. The small but efficient airport staff guided us to the SuperClubs desk & within 20 minutes we were on our way to Negril via shuttle bus (air conditioned). We were the only passengers on the bus so our very friendly bus driver told us to move from the back to the front (we sat in the back because we were hoping to snooze during the ride). Some other guy jumped on the bus as we were getting ready to leave, a local Jamaican, to offer us our first shot at Ganja.. (We thought maybe the bus driver had his share of Ganja since he scraped into a wall with the front of the bus as we were leaving the airport, he got out, checked it and said...(you guessed it!) "No problem, mon....") Alrighty then, off we go. The 90 minute bus ride was quite the roller coaster but not as bad as we expected. As a matter fact we managed to fall asleep the last half hour.

Check - in was quick & friendly....our comfortably air-conditioned room on the prude side was surrounded by lush greenery & very quiet. The accommodations are sparse but we did not spend too much time in the room anyway. They do have blow dryers & a coffee maker, which is cool (one less thing to pack next time...the blow dryer, that is). We brought some CDs for the CD player in each room, which proved to be a great idea.

After settling in we hit the prude beach (first timers, remember) by noon. I surprised Dan by pulling off my top immediately...head on is how I deal with most things & at Hedo that proved to be the best mode of operation (think about it too much & you won't do it...this comes from a die hard prude...or so I thought!) The water was great...warm & calm. Stayed at the beach until late & then took showers after a little "afternoon delight" then off to dinner. The buffet is very nice with a lot of choices, great salad bar & desserts are super. Wine is served with dinner. Watched the entertainment & then went for a walk around the grounds. Had great sex on the beach (note: watch for the security guards walking the beach - we also found the prude beach to be more secluded & better for this activity). To bed by midnight. First day - great!

Tuesday - worked out in open-air fitness center...too much sweat...used to air conditioned facility. Buffet b-fast - very nice choices. We finally met up with our e-mail buddies from Denny's visitor list (Dave, Donna, Shelly, Parker, Theresa & Mark)....what a great group...since it rained we played Bingo in the open air buffet area...we had a good time in spite of the rain...Went back to the room for afternoon "activities" and rest (listened to Journey on CD player). Dinner buffet w/our new Hedo buds. Stayed for the entertainment & then back to the room to get ready for the lingerie party. I modeled all 8 outfits for Dan & he chose the 2 piece see-through outfit that was revealing w/o making me uncomfortable...he only had two choices ... boxers or a thong I bought him for Xmas ... thankfully he chose the thong (he looked fabulous!). The lingerie party at the disco started at 11pm & it got packed very quickly. Fortunately, we did not have much clothing to add to the heat...the bar was ridiculously slow in serving...easier to walk up to the main bar for drinks then wait for some sort of attention from the bartenders they assigned to this thirsty & sweaty crowd (the disco is way to small for the PJ crowd but we had fun) our crowd peeled off at about 1:30am to the nude Jacuzzi...we danced some more & then back to the room (the next day we decided to venture on to the nude side & needed plenty of strength for that!...or so we thought).

Wed - we headed to the nude beach after b-fast. As usual I jumped in head first & stripped immediately - Dan's eyes almost popped outta his head (among other things). The weather was perfect, although there would be no watersports because the operators thought the water was to rough. We "hung out" for a while & had burgers from the grill on the prude beach, (super food for grill food)! Afternoon we decided to find our e-mail buddies at the nude pool. Walked over topless & felt the need to strip immediately upon arrival at the pool. The swim up bar is very cool & the whole scene was really nice. We met our new friends again for dinner, and later after dancing at the disco, met them again at the nude Jacuzzi. This was our first trip to the nude Jacuzzi and it proved to be very interesting. (what a show...there was a couple that could not "get enough" & decided they needed to show all of a us how to "do it" poolside - we figured they must have been leftovers from the Lifestyles group or exhibitionists or both!) Of course, once they started there were others that seemed the need to join in. It was really comical & all of the onlookers clapped when the guy's "needs" were (finally) met!

Thurs - After sleeping in late (I had a little too much wine and a few to many margarita's the previous night) We went straight to our spot on the nude beach...Dan & I prefer ocean water to pool water & the waves were fun. The conditions had improved a little from the day before and we were able to talk the operators into letting us take the kayaks out. This was a dry day for me - zero alcohol & lots of grilled cheese sandwiches from the grill w/ 7-UP. After a couple of hours on the beach we met our friends at the nude pool. Toga party that night was great fun. Theresa got chosen to participate in the sexiest toga contest & me for the most virginal...! sad face because Shelly and Parker are scheduled to leave early the next morning...apparently they decided it was easier to stay awake in the nude Jacuzzi all night & catch the 6am bus out...ugh...we missed them immediately.

Friday...nude beach & pool & met up with another couple to take a taxi to Rick's Cafe. $10.00 per person & took about 15 minutes to get there. Motive for going: Lobster. Priced at $24.99 was a fairly good deal. The outdoor seating and view was wonderful. Our taxi driver was very friendly & waited "in the bar" for us to finish dinner & drive us back...ARGH...he was finishing up a Red Stripe beer when we approached him to take us home... Returned to Hedo to enjoy the circus show which was moved indoors on the dining stage because it had begun to sprinkle. Enjoyed midnight buffet & a little "quickie", this time on the nude beach. With the occasional light sprinkles it was very romantic. We then went to the Jacuzzi near the main pool & had it to ourselves (we had heard that it was clothing optional after midnight).

Saturday - B-fast and another sad face - have to say good-bye to Mark & Theresa. Spent our usual morning on the nude beach. After sampling the lunch buffet we headed to a little shack south of the Sandal's resort where we rented WaveRunners. A little bit of a challenge with the rough water & the fact that Dan's watercraft could not turn left... (should have brought our goggles for this adventure - salt water in the eyes is a drag!) Went for a late afternoon walk on beach with Dave & Donna to a place called Mahogany Inn which is about a mile south of Hedo. It is a small resort hotel with a very cool open-air bar...it was empty except for some locals smokin' the Ganja & drinking Red Stripe. Finished off the day at the nude Jacuzzi with Dave & Donna...the water was lukewarm (They had drained and refilled it earlier in the day) we left shortly after a group sing-a-long of American Pie led by some guy with a great voice from Tennessee!

Sunday VERY sad face...going home today ... We had b-fast & headed straight to the nude pool to meet Dave & Donna (they leave on Monday). We laid out & relaxed until we HAD to leave at 2:00 p.m. to catch the bus and our 6:00 p.m. flight.

In closing, I have to say I have never had such a wonderful trip in my 36 years of life. Dan & I have traveled quite a bit & we have always had a great time but this takes the cake! The staff at Hedo is fabby; they make you feel comfortable playing crazy games & participating in all sorts of events. The food & drink are great! The rooms need a little work but hey they are only used for two things anyway & the lights are "usually" out in both cases! The only disappointment was not being able to take advantage of the watersports because of the water conditions. You can make Hedo as wicked or as semi-wicked as you like...we chose semi-wicked & had a wonderful time rekindling the romance, meeting our new friends and enjoying the atmosphere. I keep telling my husband of 15 years..."I want my Hedo Dan back"...he says I may have to wait until our next trip...We have already begun saving for our return and the possibility of meeting our new friends again next year.
