Laz & Gail - 04/99

Laz and Gail's Hedonism II trip report - April 28 - May 03, 1999

This was our first trip to Hedo. One word I can say to sum up the trip is GRRRREAT TIME! While I've been to nude beaches before, it was Gail's first time, but about 15 minutes on the beach was all it took to get her comfortable, and off came the suit!

We started out by booking the trip, and only afterward learned about the Dennyp web sites. We appreciate all the trip reports which go a long way in telling us what to bring and expect (we still overpacked!). Some advice we can pass on to others reading this is to bring an insulated drink bottle with a wide top (to keep a large supply of purple rains cool for a while!), water shoes, and (Gail says) leave the undies at home!

Wednesday we left CT about 6:30 a.m., and arrived MoBay at noon and the bus ride was long but not as bad as all the reports had made it out to be since there were only 4 of us in the van. 2:00pm we were in Hedo and by 2:30 on the beach. Of course, we were not given the room we had requested (nude oceanview) and were told only prude side available. Well, a call to our travel agent (took about 20 minutes to get a call through) and some assertiveness at the front desk, (mostly from Gail who is good at speaking her mind, I tend to avoid confrontation), and by 9:00pm we were finally told that we were moving to nude side oceanview. This is the only place to be at Hedo. It sure beats having to get dressed to go to the beach. Rest of Wednesday was beach, hot tub, nonstop alcohol consumption, and more hot tub (with live adult video). Went to bed early, but came back out to the hot tub about 2:00am to find it mobbed with people. Enjoyed watching the goings on (everything from couples, threesomes, and groups) and meeting some new friends.

Thursday morning took a sailboat ride for about two hours. Our drink bottles full of purple rains and no clothes, just us and the sailboat way out in the bay (Can you tell I love to sail!). Of course a couple of boats passed by cheering at us from the other (clothed) resorts. I guess we gave them a show. We just waved back with a big smile and nothing else on! Of course on one of my tacks, Gail decided to go swimming unintentionally, after rescuing her she never failed to duck again when I yelled "coming about"! Afterward we enjoyed the beach for a while with the jerk chicken for lunch from the nude grill, until 4:30 when it was nude VOLLLLEEEEEEYYYYBBAAAALL time! We both love the game and played every day where we met the best group of new friends whom we ended up spending most of the time with - Kent & Oscar, Ben & Connie, Carl & Carline, Phil & Tracy, Karla & Craig, and others whom I may have forgotten. We love you all and thanks for being a part of our great trip. We do hope we stay in touch and get together at Hedo again soon! After VOLLLLEEEYYYBAALLLL it was afternoon happy hour in the hot tub which was always interesting, then off to dinner and the TOGA PARTY! I was glad to see most people wore toga's, and the event was fun, but perhaps the judging took too long, anyway, we left there and off to the hot tub again. Met up with some Vinnie's there, one of whom ended up wearing Gail's beer on a certain part of his (obviously excited) anatomy (only Gail could do that with tact) but it did cool him off. Several beers later, I carried Gail back to the room (about 4:00am) where she paid homage to the porcelain goddess before bed. (Oops, I'm not supposed to tell people that).

Friday morning slept in late (for obvious reasons), but got up had breakfast and it was out on the hobie cat time by noon for some sailing. It is sooooooo great being out there with the boat, a best friend/lover, no clothes, and a stiff wind. (Appropriate wording, Oh captain, my captain!). Afternoon basking in the sun/ purple rains/ jerk chicken/ pool, and our new friends to talk to. Then of course at 4:30 it is VOLLLLEEEYYYBAALLLL! Great games as always, and we had a good level of competition from everyone that played. With too many purple rains in us, Gail decided we all needed a nature break. So a dozen people all run in the ocean to raise the water temperature before resuming the game. What a sight! Later more happy hour in the hot tub/ dinner and dancing/ and more hot tub and laughs and conversation with friends. Remember Gail taking 15 minutes to take off the clothing. Well, by now we are leaving dinner and as soon as we are out of the main dining hall, she is tearing that cumbersome bit of clothing off.

Saturday woke up early to watch sunrise, swim in the ocean and enjoy breakfast. We also finally ventured over to the shops and make reservations at Pastavari's. We finally ventured over to the aviary also which is really neat with all the birds including parrots, doves and other birds. It is tucked away in the gardens so not easy to find but worth the effort to take a walk there for a while. Forgot all about the catamaran cruise which we never made reservations for. Next time I think that is a must do thing. Of course we then had to take the hobie cat out again for some sailing. Ahhhhhhhhhhh! It was a bit choppier with the wakes on the ocean, but that just made for a more exhilarating ride. Afterwards, Gail wanted to go water skiing. They had a boat going out, and we jumped on. Of course, I had no suit on but Gail did bring her bottoms since she did not want to land too hard. Gail water skiied, while I just basked in the sun on the beach where the ski boat dropped us off for turns. Don't know if it was a nude beach or not, but it was one then. Then back to the beach/ pool/ purple rains and good new (nude) friends to share them with. VOLLLLEEEYYYBAALLLL! at 4:30, followed by hot tub/ dinner/ and hot tub with more drinks, conversation and laughs and watching the goings-on in the hot tub.

Sunday we woke up early again to watch sunrise, swim at dawn and then found a convenient hammock on the beach in which we curled up and slept for a few hours. Soooo peaceful, sleeping outside sans clothes in the early morning sun listening to the ocean (There are many hammocks, some set up in secluded places, all over the resort grounds.) Then our final hobie cat ride. It was a great ride again with lots of wind and choppy sea. Exhilarating! On my final run, I decided to buzz the nude beach area, coming in right along the ropes fast and sleek, and parking the cat on the beach like it was in the garage. Later, Carline and Tracy said I got style points for that as they watched us come in (Gail says I don't need comments like that or my ego as a sailor will be un-bearable). Gail wanted to go parasailing, so with me being petrified of heights, I reluctantly agreed, if she would hold my hand during the ordeal. We went down and of course without suits signed up. They said no problem, mon and we were off in the sky shuttle to hook up with the parasail boat. Of course, in the parasail boat there were several other passengers from other (obviously clothed) resorts who looked horrified when they saw Gail and I get on in just our birthday suits. We sat down, and they all scooted over about three feet on the bench as if we were some kind of plague. (We don't think we look all that bad naked) So we just smiled, sipped our purple rains and started to talk to everyone til it was our turn. We put the harness on and got hooked up to the bar and the next thing you know we are floating, dangling from this giant parachute. It was really a very enjoyable ride, very smooth, and yes, Gail did hold my hand, but I was really comfortable up there and am glad she convinced me to go despite my fear of heights. On the way back, I think the others got more comfortable with us and they all turned out to be nice people including a couple of newlyweds married for less than 24 hours. Beach/ pool/ more purple rain followed until 4:30 and VOLLLLEEEYYYBAALLLL! We all got to the court (and by now we are all old friends) and there was no ball today. Carl remembered seeing a good ball at the prude court, so he said he'd get it but didn't have any clothes. Gail, not passing up the opportunity said let's go get it, so the two of them went off to the prude side sans clothes and retrieved the volleyball. Of course as they were getting back to the volleyball court, some guy comes running after them yelling "hey that's my ball" What a funny sight. Apparently he had brought his own volleyball. We invited him to join us if we could use his ball, and after a few minutes of deliberation, he took his suit off and joined in. Turned out to be a very good player. After the regular games, somebody (read Gail) decided there should be a guys vs. girls game. Bad idea for us guys, cause of course the women had to cheat. First there were the distractions with anatomy checks and Tracy's splits. Of course we were too nervous to play. Then there was the new form of addition in which points counted double for them and negative for us, and the final straw when certain guys were promised to get no nookie if they won. So much for that version of the game. Hot tub/ dinner followed after which we all went to the disco for dancing followed by Veronica's for some drinks and conversation. Where I ain't never seen slippery nipples and slippery penises drank this way in my local hometown watering hole (Thanks Forrest and Lynn for the lessons). Then off to the hot tub for more fun and some of the best viewing all week of multiple type action.

Monday was our departure day. Bags out the door by 10:00 am. Bus leaves at 11:00 am. Sad goodbyes to all our great new friends. I sure hope we get to see everyone again soon. Thanks again and love ya to all. That was by far the best part of the trip, all the people who go to Hedo make it what it is. And Hedo is just the ideal spot to make that happen. The bus was waiting at 11:00 and of course we were last with not much room left. Gail did not want to get on a crowded bus but reluctantly we did (we contemplated flying out for a moment). Of course, half way to the airport the bus got a flat tire. Should be a few minutes right? Well the bus didn't have the right jacks and all, so they had to drive the tire up on a log, then get jacks under it. Took half an hour. An enterprising Jamaican stopped and opened a cooler with red stripes and Ting soda he was offering for an inflated price. We paid his fee just to keep cool. Rest of flight was uneventful except I'm wishing we were back there. I usually don't wear much clothing around the house, but I had to resist the urge to go get the mail without anything on. It was just so convenient to walk out the door without worrying about clothes.

Tidbits: Packing - We overpacked. I came back with 3 pairs of underwear I didn't wear. Gail says I told you so. She never even wore or brought any with her ;-). Only wore clothes for breakfast (swim trunks, muscle tee for me, top and wrap for Gail), and for dinner (usually shorts and shirt for me, dress for Gail) and our trip in and out. Also a sheet for toga night. Rest of the clothes were just passengers.

Floatable insulated mug - Best thing to have drinks in. It floats, keeps drink cold, and is double the capacity of a glass. I had a blue one and Gail had a yellow one and both were always being filled with purple rains.

Sailing - We had 5 GRREEAAATTT days of sailing on the hobie cat. Great steady wind. Moderate chop and beautiful weather and warm water. We did watch one sailor get humbly towed in, so you do have to know what you are doing out there. But I think they were laughing about it by days end! For the non skippers, parasailing is a real blast and the ride is very smooth, and you never really notice the height. Wish we did the catamaran, though.

Hot tub - Probably the main attraction in terms of entertainment. Beats the paid entertainment in the dining hall. It is the social magnet as well as the fun tub where almost anything goes. Gail and I being a little more discreet, enjoyed more the voyeurism. Sex police were around, but never saw anything really enforced.

Friends - The best part of it all is the friends. Can't say that enough. We've come away meeting some great new friends. We look forward to going again and hopefully meeting them again.
