This was our first trip to Jamaica, first trip to Hedo and 1st time experiencing public nakedness! Hands down this was the best vacation we have ever taken!! I am going to try to relive this day by day, some of the days are a little blurry so I apologize for any confusion!
Sunday 5/16 We decided to book our trip for 8 days. Our flight was scheduled to leave very early in the morning on Sunday from Grand Rapids Michigan , both of us had been up all night (I was at a party and Peggy was tearing apart her apartment looking for her birth certificate). We got to the airport and the flight was canceled, no problem, we got on another flight to Chicago then caught another flight to Tampa, then on to MoBay! The flight into MoBay did not agree with me very well, luckily Peggy had brought an ample supply of Tums, I needed them for the bus ride! The bus ride was not as bad as I had expected, the streets are filled with pot holes and we made a pit stop at the store for some Red Stripe! I think Peggy was drunk by the time we got there!! (Peggy here: pretty damned close!! I was on vacation!!) Check in was a breeze! We got into our room right away. When we called to make our reservations we requested the prude side because we were determined to be prudes the entire time we were there! We got a nude garden room! Oh no, not the nude side! Once we checked in and got into our swim suits, it took us about 20 minutes to get naked! We could not believe we were doing this! But after about 5 or 10 minutes it was like we go naked all the time! We met so many great people our first day there! (Thanks for the tour Michael!!) We were surprised by how many people were there from New York! The staff was great! Especially Paul (part of the entertainment staff) He was obsessed with throwing me in the pool! So Sunday went by very fast! We spent most of the time in the nude hot tub! (I was bruised and passed out by 8:30 that evening. Slept about 12 hours and was ready to go the next morning!!)
Monday Monday is a little blurry, I know it was an over cast day, and I think it rained at some point! I do remember the wet T-Shirt contest! Peggy, our new friend Tracy and I all signed up (involuntarily). Peggy went first (just wanted to get it over with!), she did great, then Tracy (who also did a great job), then me, I stepped on a piece of glass on the dance floor , first trip to the nurse! Tracy was in the finals!! The rest of the day Monday was spent drinking and swimming and drinking. Later on that night I fell asleep in a hammock on the beach for a little bit, then off to bed : ) I lost track of Peggy that night, I am sure she will put in her little bit later! (I spent most of the day in the nude hot tub with Michael, Pete and Tracy after the drinking games continuing to drink............I've never done an all-inclusive vacation before, so you can bet that they lost money on me! Took a nap in there somewhere and actually stayed up until about 1:00!)
Tuesday Sun, Sun, Sun!!! Thank God! We got up and had breakfast, then headed off to the beach! We spent about 5 hours in the Sun (maybe a little to much) and we were drinking before we even got there! I was a crispy critter when we left! I will go tanning a few more times before I go next year! I think I got heat stroke that day, because I was sicker than a dog that night! It was Pajama party night! I definitely felt over dressed in my bra and garter belt! (I too felt overdressed in my pink teddy.) Next year I think I will just go naked! (Some people practically were!! VERY interesting!!) We met up with our New York buddies, and danced the night away, I lost track of Peggy again, went back to the room and thats when the heat stroke hit me! (I think I stayed up until about 4 a.m. this day, but I couldn't swear on it................as Jen mentioned before, the trip is just a little fuzzy here and there........)
Wednesday The Island Picnic!! If you have never been on this, I recommend that you go! (Me too!!) We got to the boat at around 10:30 (Peggy was already drinking--hey, it's all paid for, why not??!!) Our faithful lead was Paul (a.k.a. Captain Sh*t) We got to the island and as we got off the boat we were handed wine bottles filled with rum punch (mostly rum and a little bit of punch) It was warm out that day and we all had to sit in the water and play drinking games! (Waaaaaaaaay too much fun!! We all had sh*t names and played just tons of fun games. Almost everyone pretty much ended up naked. Met some great new people, and even someone else named Peggy! She and her husband kept day-tripping it to Hedo because their resort was lame!) Some of the people were pouring out their rum in the water, some of us requested beer after trying to finish the rum! Most of the other people were able to choke it down! After the drinking games, we had lunch and I don't really remember what happened after that, but when I got my pictures back there was a picture of a guy wearing Peggy's swimsuit and Peggy was nowhere to be found! (I was wearing his shorts and t-shirt eating my lunch!) I think I went to bed early that night! Peggy was off doing her own thing! : ) (Not sure exactly what I did after the picnic, but I'm pretty sure that I met up with Michael, Pete and Tracy and hung out at the nude pool, was in some bizarre contest, and then did body painting. THAT was fun!! Think I hit the sack about 8ish, and then got up at 1:00 because I was starving, so went to the buffet for a snack, and then back to snooze.)
Thursday Toga party night! By far the best night there! We started the day off with rain : ( So we spent the day drinking again and played some games! Toga party was great! There were so many good togas there! We formed a conga line and tried to wake up the people from the other resorts! They had some good toga contests too! Peggy was in the contest for the person who could take it off and put it back on the fastest, she won hands down! I won the sexiest toga! All in all it was a great night! The staff did a great job getting us all in the mood to party! (During the day, they had a contest for the men's best body moves.....somewhat like our wet t-shirt contest. Pete and Michael entered, and boy oh boy, did they shake it!!! Toga party was by far the best. Met Benson and Harry, and ended up drinking into the wee hours once again.)
Friday It rained again on Friday, so after breakfast sometime we decided to get a group of people together to play a drinking game! That had to be moved from the inside to the outside! We had shots, and champaign buckets full of beer! Our group kept getting bigger and bigger and soon the answers to the questions turned into demonstrations! Drink your beer or loose your shorts was our motto for the day! Peggy lost her suit and we had to go to the nude side! (Hey! Sh*t happens!!)
That night was the beach party, I didn't quite make it there, I found my self a little partied out from the week! Lost track of Peggy again (that seemed to happen a lot.) (Hey! Sh*t happens!!:-) At the nude side, met up w/Benson and Harry again, and then I spent most of the night talking w/Benson and listening to jazz.)
Saturday The catamaran cruise! (Clothing optional) We went to breakfast and then headed off to the pier for the cruise, it looked like it was going to be a sunny day, but then a huge cloud came over us and let loose! Oh well, we were drinking so much already we didn't care!! (Gotta love that freakin' rum punch and Red Stripe!) Went to the Pickled Parrot for some cliff jumping, snorkeling and cave exploring! (I did the rope swing off the cliff and then the water slide. Had a riot on the catamaran getting poured on.) What a blast! It was a great day! Saturday night I meet Jamie and Jamie from Boston and we all went to Veronicas and listened to Karioke then headed off to the Disco for some grovin' then got nekid one last time before going home : ( (After the cruise, went to the nude side and met Benson and Harry again. Then we went to the pasta restaurant and had good food but horrible service. Everything is very, very slow paced in Jamaica, so don't be in a hurry for anything!! Was going to go to the piano bar, but ended up crashing.)
Sunday Oh so tired, and a little (very) sad, we got on the bus at 9am and headed for home. It was good to get back but very difficult to get used to reality! All in all it was a great trip!! Ya mon!! (Once again, hands down, the best vacation I've ever had! Made so many new friends, and am keeping in touch.) Some pointers to Hedo virgins: *As usual, pack light! You don't need much if your walking around naked the whole time! (This is the honest to God truth. You really only need your swimming suit, a pair of shorts, and a couple of tops. Nothing else!!) *Be careful of how much time you spend in the sun, it's very easy to get heat stroke! *Go to the island picnic! (A must!!) *Get the book before you go, we did not have the fortunately experience of reading it before we went but I wish we had! *If you can, attend the Toga tying demo, it will give you some helpful insight on how to tie it! (And then be sure to go to the toga party!!!!!!!!!!!!) *Try the cliff jumping if you can, it's a great experience and give Rasta Ralphie a big kiss for me!
The staff was so great, they do such a wonderful job! Thanks to Shaka, Timera, Paul and Conroy! I don't know how they do it week after week!! Can't wait to get there next year!!
