Eric & Carrie 04/99

Trip report - Carrie and Eric -- 4/12-4/19

Every day turned out to be basically the same. Awake around 8 - serious snuggling til 9, then breakfast, beach and drinks from 10-12, then lunch with 3 glasses of wine, then nap from 1-3, then hot tub and drinks from 4-6, then dinner with more wine. Then bed. We did almost no activities outside of that. Been to Jamaica a few times before - did the touristy stuff and souvenir buying - wasn't into any of that this trip. Did walk over to Sandals one morning and also to Grand Lido - escorted to the gift shop by a series of guards - that was weird!!

First time to Hedo. Eric was much more enthused about the Hedo experience than I - he has been a nudist for a long time. Has tried to get me to "join" - did go to Paradise Lakes with him several times - never caught onto the magic of nudity, but agreed to do Hedo with him. We both work long hours, are not married and 8 days with him seemed wonderful. And it was. There were some glitches. Day five we were both getting on each other's nerves. Both said we should have made it a five day trip. Day six got better and the trip finished beautifully.

Well after we made reservations and paid the money, Eric "mentioned" that he would like to swing. I said absolutely not. He thought I would change my mind like I did about being nude in public. I didn't. I suggested that he could go participate on his own. He didn't. After a good bit of whining about it, he finally dropped it. I don't know why he thought I would change my mind, and after witnessing the sex acts in the hot tub, I was more sure than ever. The magic of swinging is apparently lost on me as well....

Flight into MoBay was wonderful. Things went very smoothly. Brief wait for the bus. I don't know if I will ever go back to Hedo, but I know for damn sure I will never ride that bus again!! It was downright painful - I expected long, did not expect horrendous...

CHECK-IN was a breeze - got room 1216 --garden nude. No complaints. Tree frogs are all over. The basketball court was busy off and on, but overall, happy with the room. Mirror on the ceiling took some getting used to. Was frightening upon waking up first thing in the morning - room seemed a little "crowded" - and all parts of the mirror were "fat" to me - Eric looked okay, so hmmmm.....Hair dryer worked fine - my finger diffuser did NOT fit - nozzle is tapered, not round, so diffuser fell off. Water did fluctuate in shower - no big deal though. Took Lysol for the air conditioner - Eric was getting a cold before he went. He got sick. I started to get sick around day 4, but it didn't get really bad. Wonder if it was more airline/ac reasons than a cold....

TIPPING - after I write this, a letter goes off to Hedo. The only problem was really day one. We are dead tired and in pain from the bus ride. I asked if someone would take our bags to our room. The receptionist said to point them out and tell the guy the room number. I did. I handed him $4 - we just got there and I wasn't thinking. He says "on the seat in the truck" --Like I want to move another inch. But I did, and we got our bags. We looked confused trying to find our room. Another guy said, "I'll take you." We thanked him and went about our business - he lingered and lingered and finally went away. Then it dawned on me he expected a tip for walking us about 4 rooms!! The clincher was at dinner. We were seated and were told by our waiter "I'll take good care of you and you can take good care of me." I thought it was odd. The night went on. It seems like the manager checks in with you occasionally. The manager asked me if I wanted more wine and I said yes (not knowing he was the manager, thought he was another waiter). He then goes to our waiter and tells him I want more wine. I get the wine. No big deal. BUT, as we are leaving the waiter steps between me and Eric and blocks our exit. "Hey, mon, you're not leaving me anything?" Eric looks dumbfounded, I am speechless and Eric finally says "I don't want you to get fired - I can't tip you." The waiter just stood there - Eric went around him. It set a bad mood, but nothing compared to that night. Overall, the waitstaff was very pleasant - some more than others, but we had no complaints. The FOOD was better than I expected!! A week of buffet did get old, but we ate a LOT. What's with liver for breakfast though???? Ketchup was VERY SWEET. Sausages and bacon were good, but didn't taste like home - what's it made out of?? Soups were excellent. The flan was as good as anything I've had in Paris. PASTAFARI - I can't give a comment that I would want you to count on. It was SO HOT and the AC wasn't working, so we were grumpy. Then we got a wobbly table. Service was slow --well, of course!! I can't blame the staff - it was STIFLING hot - I wouldn't want to move either. I got a pasta that was pretty good - maybe it was excellent - it was just not an enjoyable night.

PJ party - uh,oh....didn't know the pj's were to be worn at the NIGHTCLUB and NOT dinner. Made a quick retreat to the room to get CLOTHES on. Some others thought as we did and bravely wore their pj's to dinner. We missed the pj party - who can stay up that late when you start drinking at 10 AM???

TOGA party - went to the pm demo - actually doing it is another story - this is when Eric and I were getting testy. "This is stupid - I don't want to do this" "Got to - it's part of the program" "It's stupid" Sheet flying across the room "Well fine, then we won't go!" "Fine!!!" Well, we did go to dinner, but didn't last for the party - I was getting dragged down by the cold or whatever. There are quite a few folks who do NOT do the Toga thing and they are not denied dinner....

ENTERTAINMENT - didn't see much. The circus act was great - the music for PJ night was great. Lunchtime spins were lame...

HOT-TUB - We never got there late at night - Afternoon was frightening enough!! Again, Eric is the one who wanted to watch (I suggested he join in but he didn't). However, he was so busy chatting and being social, that he missed a lot of what he wanted to watch. I could not help but to see it. Lots of blatant, exhibitionist stuff. Girls and guys sitting on the edge and getting oral sex. One girl floating and three guys doing her. One girl going around the pool edge and squatting for each guy to do oral sex. As an aside, I saw Kas' "photo layout" on this board and recognized her. I expected her to be wild and in the center of activity. When I saw her, I saw a fun-loving girl who seemed very devoted to her man. What she may have done when I wasn't there or when she was in her room might have been a totally different story. The photos did not capture her happy and fun personality (as probably was INTENDED!!).

BUTT-CRACK TOURS - who are you people? It's fun to sit and pick out people to blow your whistles and shout "Prude Alert"?? I was out on the raft the first day you came and couldn't figure out what you were saying. Then I got sun-burned boobs and god-only-knows-what kind of rash on my ass. I put on a swimsuit - I am walking with Eric who is naked and you blow your god-damned whistle. Of course I am speechless. Then I think I need to justify why I am wearing a suit, and where I have had sex on grounds to prove I'm not a prude. (Thank you Sue for telling them off!! Much appreciated!!) Then the next day, one of you wrapped in a towel yells "Prude Alert" to another girl in a suit. Eric calls you on it, so you flash him.

SWIMSUITS - was very surprised to see so many women wearing bottoms.

PIERCINGS AND TATTOOS - I was in pain when I SAW the places that were pierced and tattooed - I guess when you are naked, you need something to differentiate.

SHAVING - I did it for Eric - prepped myself a few months ahead - actually got rid of the bumps and redness. Until the first day of Hedo. Sun or sunscreen? Don't know what did it, but it was a problem. No more shaving for me...

DELROY - Eric didn't read the board like I did before we went - didn't know who Delroy was but the first day, returned with our drinks and said "That guy has an attitude." Apparently Delroy had a rough couple days - he was the topic in the hot-tub. Then he got happy again and all was fine...

Took us a few days to realize that Pina Coladas and Strawberry Daquiris are self-serve at different locations -

Took flight from Negril to MoBay - best 60 bucks spent - and what a view!!

I probaby missed some things - we really did not do a lot of activities that Hedo offers. Spent a lot of time in the room!! Found out house-keeping works very late! Took the do-not-disturb sign off the door and housekeeping showed up 8pm!! She seemed happy that we just got fresh towels and sent her on her way. Oh, thanks to the mysterious man who showed up at the pool after one of our encounters saying "You two look thirsty - let me get you fresh drinks" He did and then disappeared. - AND YOU THINK NO ONE IS WATCHING!!!
