Trip Report Hedo Sept 20 - 27.

On Sat. Sept. 19 we sat in Naples , Fla. at a relatives house debating whether or not Hurricane Georges was headed to Jamaica. We finally decided that if the plane left Sunday morning, we would be on it. Best decision of the week!!

Our trip to Hedo and our arrival was very uneventful and before we knew it we were on the nude beach. We did fly from MoBay and haven't regretted any of the 15 minutes it took. Kath was rather apprehensive for the first two days about the nude part. But before the week was out she had won the least tanned contest and was more than willing to participate in the judging process by standing up there in front of everyone and proving she had no tan. Her victory led to back handsprings on the lawn. The "Best Body" contest was won by a lovely lady named Lisa. She won hands down and deservedly so. It was only later that we learned she was three months pregnant.

Also, although Kath is currently a nurse and spent a portion of her time in Hedo studying for her master's, she is also an ex-performer. One night in the piano bar the mic came her way and she shocked the room with a rendition of "Summertime"

Overall, our entire trip to Hedo can be summed up in the words I heard one afternoon in the cold tub, "When I woke up this morningŠ this was not on my agenda." We quickly learned that at Hedo, everyday is a new day and every experience is a new experience. We would wake up in the morning having no idea where the day would take us. It was incredibly exciting and we had a truly wonderful time.

Through the course of the week we met the nicest people, people with whom we have communicated with since and will continue to communicate with. We hung out with an ever changing and growing crowd and out of the bunch there was no one who was a drag.

Volleyball was great, a terrific way to meet people and become involved in things. Everyone had told us to participate. It is the best way to meet people and it was truly the case. Whenever things were slowing down, all we had to do was join into an activity and relationships were established quite easily. Toga night was fun; the PJ party was fun although somewhat tame from all reports. I highly recommend the body painting as a way to get to know someone.

So, to Keith and Dawn, Judy and Don, Loretta and Jeff, Christy, Tammy, Karen, Jim, A.J., Ian, Vinnie and Veronica, Kathy and Eric, Lisa and Frank, Lee & Verne, Todd, Todd, Keith, Bob, Tracy and all the other fabulous people we met thank you for making our trip as wonderful as it was. We had a great time and want us all to do it again next year.
