Kim & Kristin 10/98

October 24-30 1998

Saturday 4:30 am October 24, 1998 FINALLY it is here!!!! Kim and I have been planning this trip for months!!! We wanted to go somewhere for vacation and a VP at our office told us to go to Hedonism (now we know why he is such a relaxed person!!) We booked the trip, searched the Internet and just kind of held our breath on the way to the airport. We were sleep deprived, and Kim hates to fly, so she was drugged. So drugged in fact, the stewards were making fun of her on the plane. We flew from Richmond to Philli then to MoBay. How nice to have the natives singing as you walk off the plane. That just got me all ready for the week. I have been to Jamaica before, but Kim had never been. She was anxious about the customs, but "no problem"! Everything went fine. We made our way to the SuperClubs desk. There was a guy from our plane going to hedo as well. He immediately laughed at us finding out that we were first timers. Great ... more anticipation of what we were going to see there. We went out to catch our bus, and I was stopped by a native who wanted to sell me some ganja. No thanks is all I said, and he went away. "No problem, Mon"! Let's just talk about that bus ride. My God! How they do it is beyond me. Roads so narrow, and full of potholes, you are surprised that people can even drive on them at all. People passing and honking the horn ... it was definitely an experience. Not to mention the Gail force winds and the pelting rain from Hurricane Mitch. We get there, and of course our room was not ready, so we got directed to the bar and the buffet. Kim, Walter (the guy that rode on the bus with us) and I went to get some food and some drinks. The lunch was awesome. I was very surprised. About 6 strawberry daiquiris later, we got our room key's. Our luggage got taken to our room, and the bell guy turned out to be our friend because he gave us a token of Jamaican life, if you know what I mean. We met up with Walter again and went to orientation. That was OK, just a quick review of what goes on and where everything is. Then dinner, then a quick trip to the nude Jacuzzi. That was no biggie either. Just a little strange at first, but we met the most awesome couple from Canada. They were the true meaning of fabulous. Then we went to bed.

Day 2 October 25, 1998 We woke up and went to breakfast. Sat with two guys from Boston. They were really nice. We played name that tune, and I won some Hedo Bucks. What a blast. The staff did such a wonderful job with the hurricane. What other place could you go to in the world when it was either overcast or raining the whole time and have such a blast? We drank and drank and drank. Became familiar with purple rains. A must drink!! Went swimming and played around in the hot tub (prude side). We met a group of girls from OR & CA. They were so nice. We met a guy from Myrtle Beach named Mike. What a Hedo experience this guy had. (WOW) Went to Patsafari's with a bunch of people. It was fabulous!!! Then after some drinks, on to the nude side hot tub. I had my fun, and went to bed. Kim came in later. Day 3 Oct 26.1998 Still no sun!!! Hurricane Mitch thought it would be a good idea to hang out! We didn't! In spite of good ole Mitch, we woke up, ate and hung out by the pool. Didn't take long to start drinking again. We made the best of no sun, and met some great people. Kim got along with some better than others. ha ha ha. That was a memorable night in the disco. Me being the Madonna freak that I am. ... had a blast. The DJ was all over Madonna, and Kim wanted to hear To Close by Next. So big mouth me, busted up into the DJ booth and begged him to play it. Low and behold... I made a new friend. Chris was really nice and played my request. He let me hang out for a while too. We did "new DJ remixes" (Tavis...had to be there!) I stumbled into the room about 4:00am. We don't remember what Kim was doing....but I am sure she had fun. Day 4 Oct 27, 1998 This was a good day for Kristin! We woke up and had breakfast. Sat by the pool. Hung out with Mike, Clay, Gina, Elle, Rae... Had a blast. Game time!!!! Swim contest in the main pool. Don't miss Lewis hopping in and out of that pool! Wow, that was impressive. Then the beer drinking contest. Drunk, Drunk, Drunk I was! Kim took a nap, and we all went to see Clay's band play on the nude side beach. It got rained out, but it was cool anyway. Went to check on Kim, and took a shower. Got bored, and walked around. Bumped into Clay who taught me what a body shot was. My God! Then all had dinner together. Elle & Ray's last night. I participated in the contest after dinner. I was dressed up like a boy and my name was "Puff Daddy." Tavis was the MC and when I walked out, he couldn't even talk because he was laughing so hard. I had the most fun!! Went to the disco, where I explored some previously undiscovered territory. Kim, of course, busted me the second I walked into the room! She was proud! That's it for Tuesday. Day 5 Oct 28, 1998 Our nonstop partying caught up to us. We slept until 1:30!!! Had to drag Kim out of bed and we had lunch. We went to the beach, and Kim got her hair braided. I found Brandy, a girl we'd met yesterday. While Kim was having her hair braided, we went kayaking. She was bored, I was in heaven. We goofed off most of Wednesday. Casino night at dinner. That was fun. Another long, drunk night in the disco. On to bed. Day 6 Oct 28, 1998 Thursday was awesome too!!!! Got up fairly early for breakfast. Met up with our friends and hung out at the beach. We stood on the dock and let the waves crash on us! That was so fun. Because of the hurricane, the waves were wicked. We went snorkeling too!! You could see pretty well. My mask was screwed up, so don't forget to bring your own. We saw some gorgeous things in that water. The fish just swam right up to you. Got back in, and Kim took a nap. I tried, but didn't want to miss anything. They opened up the Trapeze. What fun! My DJ buddy came down and hung out with me for a while. That was cool. Thursday night is Toga. I was miserable. Much happier when I took the damn thing off. Kim took her hair out. That lasted long. We hung out with Byron and his cousin in our room before dinner. Then dinner and another long night in the disco. I left the disco and hung out with some friends. Bye the time I came back to the room, I couldn't get in because there was a "Do not Disturb" sign on the door!!!! I had to park it in a lawn chair by the pool. Oh well, the things you do for your friends. Day 7 Oct 30.1998 I tried all day to push the thought that I had to leave the next day out of my head. We played games, and hung out on the beach and at the pool. Went snorkeling again and water skiing. It was amazing. Dinner was cool. We hung out with all of our staff buddies and had dinner with them. "Kimberly girl" had a nice night. We watched the pre Halloween & magic show. It was awesome. We went to the disco, and hung out. I went into town and went to a reggae bar. That was an experience. Our last night was a complete mix of emotions. I was so sick that I had to leave the next day, but I was having so much fun, it was ridiculous. Kim was the same way. I can't even explain how we felt. We went to bed really late... Kim and I didn't see much of each other after about 1:00 am. Why was that? We will never tell. What happens there, stays there. Departure Day October 31.1998 I was miserable, and Kim was miserable. We moped the whole way home. She had to drag me to get out of there.

Our wrap up: We have never had so much fun in our life. We can't wait to go back, and we will definitely go. We recommend it to anyone who is single, or a couple. You have to be open to be there though. Must be willing to broaden your horizons. Take it from me... Anything goes. All in good fun. The experience will change your life. I am serious. The things that I thought were "everything" seem like nothing to me now. I don't stress, I don't worry and I don't care what anyone thinks about me. Kim had that attitude already, and is glad that I am finally on her wavelength. Our friendship changed too. Very had to explain. We just accept now, and don't judge. We don't know what else to say ... you have to experience it for yourself. Anyone who has been there would agree.
