Two T's in NC

My husband and I decided to try Grand Lido Braco this year for our vacation.  We’ve been to Hedo II in Negril for the past two years.  Hedo was nice; but, we’re sold on GLB!  The rooms are much nicer with actual working air conditioners.  My husband complained that I had it too cold in our room!  Getting fresh towels from the turndown service was a nice surprise every night. Sometimes the trees blocked our view of the beach from our 2nd floor room. I LOVE the 24-hr. room service (even though we only ordered from there once).  The menu was varied and the delivery fast.  GLB has PLENTY of choices for food. I loved going into breakfast and having the staff remember my favorites.  Teshaun in the main dining room has the best smile and always asked if I was enjoying my stay.  He and the mimosas were a great start to the day.

The best lunch was at the nude side grill.  Everyone raves about the lamb chops.  I’m not much of a red meat eater; but, I gave them a try.  DAMN!  Those chops are tasty! (sans the mint jelly)

The French restaurant was enjoyable.  The Italian restaurant was tasty!  Sanjay who works there laughed with us and made the meal very entertaining!  Of course, we always wish that we would have eaten at the Japanese restaurant more than once.  You can’t go wrong with that.  So many choices that we never got to try the Rastfari Café.  Maybe next time.  The drinks were plentiful.  Courtney & Devon in the main bar was very friendly and kept our glasses filled!  I think my husband has a crush on the waitress from the main bar (I think it’s Lakeisha). The staff at watersports were pretty strict about letting us go boating since we had not signed up the day before (I’m sorry I didn’t make an appointment ON MY VACATION).  Turns out that only one other person showed up, so we got to go after all. We only got to go out snorkeling one day b/c it was too windy.  The snorkeling SUCKED!  Everything was brown and we saw absolutely nothing of interest.  Snorkeling in Negril was definitely much, much better. The beach was okay.  I’m not opposed to going into the water just b/c of rocks or seaweed.  Plenty of chairs and shade available.  I thought I was dreaming when the waitress slogged all the way to the end of the beach just to see if I wanted anything to eat or drink.  Made me feel like royalty.  The nude pool kicks ass!  Much, much better than at Hedo.  Lots of volleyball fiends.  Also, I guess b/c it was more open the music played wasn’t so loud.  Not everyone at the pool wants to be blasted with “Who let the dogs out” a billion times!  Plenty of chairs and floats available.  Towels were replenished often. The shows at night were not the best.  Why doesn’t someone tell the management that vacationers want to hear reggae music not the Soul Train review.  The singer with the band was very good; just the song selection was lacking.  The only thing I would suggest for GLB is hammocks on the beach and a waterslide.  I really missed going down the waterslide nude.  The people were so much fun!  More of a nudist mentality than a swingers environment. All in all, we’ll be back!
