2nd time to Braco
Feb. 17th
to Feb. 23
Air Jamaica was great again. No problems coming or going and on time. Actually we arrived 15 minutes early and my wife and I were first in line for both immigration and customs. Went right through since the baggage was waiting for us when we got off the plane. We were first since most of the passengers did not fill out the departure information.
Our wait at the SuperClubs' lounge was only long enough for me to have a cigarette and then we went and got on the bus. Here was the best part-we didn't stop as only two couples were on the bus, both going to Braco and both did not want to stop. The bus driver never broke the speed limit and we still got there in 45-50 minutes. I gave him a $10 tip.
Now, about the resort. We were there two years ago and decided then to alternate each year between Hedo ll and Braco.
They are different and we enjoy both. This year, we could only get the prude side garden as the resort was filled to capacity. We were meeting 5 other couples there with whom we travel and usually go to Hedo ll. All but one couple were in the prude side garden, buildings 11 and 12, which are closest to the nude side.
We arrive around 11:45 in the morning and the rooms were not ready. No problem . Had jerk chicken at the Reggae Cafe and visited one of our couples on the nude side since that were already there.
This time the service at the restaurants and everywhere else was superb. The staff seemed to really care what you thought about the place. All servers were very accommodating and Shanoy, the young lady who replaced Merle, was a treat.
Room: Large with a balcony, 3rd floor. Two double beds, which we requested. It was a garden view room, well kept, near the town square and pleasant. Water was hot in the morning but not at 6:30 P. M., when I also showered. It was tepid, not cold.
Food: Was great everywhere except Victoria’s Market for dinner. Piacere was great as always, The Italian restaurant was very, very good this time. The food at the A/N club house and the Reggae Cafe was also very good. But the best meal was the Fantasy night buffet on the A/N side Monday night. The selection was plentiful and the shrimp were wonderful. Grand Buffet at the Street Party was spectacular with all the Lobster you could eat.
A/N Pool and activities (daytime): ECs were there all the time and had plenty of games to keep us busy, if that’s what you wanted. The pool and both hot tubs were at perfect temperatures. Drinks were served without asking. Ice cream available all day. Lunch was good. Not enough shade (umbrellas) and you had to reserve loungers the night before to get your spot as the resort was at capacity. A/N beach was heavily used as well.
Golf: Played at least once every day while the girls were working out or sleeping in at 7:30. Played again 3 times with the girls at 10:00. Fun course. Had a good time. Wife and I brought our own clubs but we cut down on the number of clubs in the shared bag.
Night-time activities: This was the biggest difference between 2 years ago and last week. Nightly entertainment and band was good except there was no talent show in which I had hoped to participate. The ECs again had a strong presence and Kemar was our favorite. The Fantasy Party at the nude clubhouse was well attended and fun with a lot of dancing and some naughtiness. Same with the Toga party and PJ party. Actually won a bottle as sexiest man at Braco for a somewhat provocative dance. Again, the parties were well attended and fun. Both prudes and nudes.
Overall ambiance: Braco was clean, elegant, and fun. We met many great people with good attitudes and a sense of humor. Participation was very good and the weather was excellent all week. It was a very delightful week. My wife and I, as well as our group, had a great time.
