Heres our trip report. I couldnt wait to write it for fear of forgetting something good. Rather than the diary format, I thought that other first timers would find a Good Stuff versus Bad Stuff approach more helpful. Im 37 and my wifes 34 and most of the guests were approximately the same. A few younger and a few older, but it really didnt matter what age you were. This was our first C/O vacation and it was a great introduction. Ill tell you right now, this was our best vacation ever. I originally thought that it would be just a relaxation vacation but it turned out to be much more. I thought I read every trip report twice but I dont remember anyone mentioning how much fun the dancing and the guest participation events would be. The social coordinators were terrific. Kudos to Renard, Karl, Kaci, and whoever their boss was. She had great jokes and her dollar dance was a blast. Exhausting but a blast. They all deserve mo-money and more than one day off a week.
Good Stuff:
Travel
Air Jamaica- The complementary champagne and full meal hit the right spot and made our trip much more pleasant. We took Delta to Atlanta and Air Jamaica to Jamaica. Delta was terrible. Air Jamaica was terrific.
Entertainment
Dancing - We hadnt danced like that since we were dating in college. We had a fantastic time.
Social Coordinators - These people work their butts off trying to show the guests a good time and they do a great job. I know I couldnt do any better. Im sure theyre overworked and under paid so if you visit be sure to pay them the compliments they deserve.
Talent Show We enjoyed a guest who was a guitarist who really shocked the crowd. I know you cant count on this kind of luck in the future, but maybe the resort can take a hint and pay attention to how well he was received. There was no comparison between him and the rap routine that followed. You had a trained professional guitarist who entertained us extremely well for free and then a paid rap performance that we would have paid to avoid.
PJ Party The party was packed. About 50-50 nude vs prude Id say. You could tell who was who by the way they were dressed or undressed. A few topless women attended most guys wore boxers. The prude side people seemed to think it was a fashion show more so than a dare to be bare party. The prudes won most virginal female, the nudes won sexiest male and female. Everyone seemed to keep their outfits a secret until the party began though. Im starting to wonder if this was a strategy to win the bottle of rum. We danced from 10:00 p.m. till after 1:00 a.m.. Thats all I could take. It was a very good time.
Food
Lobster Fantastic doesnt begin to describe it.
Lamb chops Fantastic doesnt begin to describe it.
Jerk Chicken-Dont order this without a tall glass of water or fire extinguisher. Anything alcoholic is too dangerous to drink while eating jerk chicken.
La Pasta- Great for pizza and beer.
Between the pool bar and room service you never have to leave the nude side to eat and your not eating McDonalds either. Theres nothing better than eating those Lamb chops while floating naked at that bar and listening to some of those conversations. I miss it already.
French restaurant- Shawn says the chocolate surprise was wonderful. We had a very nice evening overall. It was a pleasant change of pace.
Accommodations
Suites with a Balcony are fantastic. A Beachfront view on the Au-Naturel side is worth the extra money. I could cast a line and fish from my balcony if I wanted. Or at least it seemed like it.
People / Guests
The people gave real meaning to the theme song from cheers. We were there only four days and it seems we had to tell 50 people goodbye the day we left. We said goodbye to friends from both the nude and prude sides and we were staying on the nude side. We visited the prude side for all the big parties. Someone was always interrupting what we were doing to say hello. I still cant figure out why and I sure dont remember all the names. I feel guilty about not remembering the names. A unique thing about this resort is how the personality of the group of guests on the au-naturel side changes. People arrive and depart at different times and as one couple leaves the personality of the group at the bar would change. Then as a new couple would arrive the personality of the group at the bar would change again. Theres a constant evolution of the conversations and the roles played by everyone in that group at the bar. Its very interesting to watch and an absolute blast to be apart of that group at the bar.
Au-Naturel Facilities:
First class all the way. This was our first experience and from the words of the other guests there, no other resort compares. The evening, or after dinner hours, seemed to attract some of the prude side folks in their clothes. I guess theyre afraid of the daylight or moonlight hitting their skin. Other guests objected to this and complained. I didnt care as long as no one told me to put my clothes back on. After the first day I really didnt feel self-conscious without my clothes. My wife was comfortable after the first day except around the workers. But she just carried a small wrap to use in uncomfortable situations.
Not so Good Stuff:
Travel:
Delta Air- how many airline do you know of that make passengers wait at the gate on the plane for an hour plus because they cant find a pilot? The trip reports I read prior to going questioned the quality of Air Jamaicas service. Well at least they had pilots.
Cab Ride:
I suggest you take a motion sickness pill before getting in the cab. My wife almost lost it on the way to the resort. I was feeling sick on the way to the airport. Take my advice. At a minimum have no alcohol in your system when you get in the cab. On the way to Braco we had an older model Toyota van with almost no air and a driver who was either near sighted, trying to draft the vehicle ahead to save on gas, or just plain stupid. The best thing about the cab ride was the feeling of the cold towel and beverage at the end. They would not have felt nearly as good had we not been tortured. I wonder if this could be planned?
Entertainment:
Talent show- The Entertainment coordinators should kindly silence those of us who cant sing and think we can. Lip-syncing should be encouraged.
PJ Party- Not enough room in the Disco once the party got going good we kept bumping into each other and stepping on feet from lack of space. They need to expand the disco or do the PJ party in the Victorias Market.
Food:
Although the Lamb chops were delicious, they were unavailable for the first three days of our stay. I can imagine how they would run out but it just didnt seem fair.
Accommodations
We had trees in front of our balcony. They obstructed a portion of our view. However, the view that remained was magnificent and the trees did provide some concealment for the balcony at crucial moments.
People
The crowd at the resort was terrific. The crowd at the airports was at best irritating, very irritating!
Au-Naturel Facilities:
On our third day the clouds came out around 3:00 p.m. and the without the sun it seemed chilly. A few of us headed for the small hot tub. And by the time people stopped showing up we had at least nine of us in there. I say again, the small hot tub. Well needless to say we were warm again. We displaced several gallons of water from the tub with all the bodies and caused a small flooding of the deck. We were all having a hilarious discussion when the thermostat must have kicked in and hot, really hot water came out of the jets. Well like I said we were packed in like sardines and there was nowhere to go but straight up out of the water. Nude People were popping up from the water like toast from a toaster. Boy what a sight.
Summary:
We had a great vacation. We shouldve stayed longer. We both believe a week is the minimum tolerable length of stay. The food was great, the entertainment was good, except for one guy on the karioke machine, and the facilities are fantastic. The people we met, Jan & Bruce, Greg & Shannon, Mike & Joyce, Chris & Kevin, John, Richard and their spouses, whos names elude me right now and I apologize for that, and a cast of others, all helped to make our vacation our most memorable one. And we sincerely thank you for that. It means a lot to us.
Every day we had the five essentials before five- o-clock, good food, good drink, good laughs, a good nap, and that other good thing. Now since we believe that this is the best facility for a nude vacation, do we dare try somewhere else? Hedo II doesnt seem right for us. After hearing many different opinions, I dont think well be as happy with the accommodations or the quality of service. Hedo III may address these issues but well have to wait and read the reviews. Wed like to see Hawaii but I cant find a comparable C/O resort there. If we continue to visit Braco how long will it take before it gets old? One thing for sure, were going to have a good time finding the answers to the questions. Yea Mon! Irie!
